I found these glass plate flowers on line and they just caught my interest. So I have been visiting the thrift shops and looking forward to checking out the yard sales this summer.
You just stack them up and glue them together. I used E6000 glue.
I started with a large frosted serving plate, a blue glass plate, a stoneware plate, two candle votives, and a flat sided bottle for the back.
When I first stacked them up the serving plate didn't look quite right so I added some yellow paint to the back of the serving plate. I only painted the scollop depressions giving it a petal look.

Holly, that is really beautiful. The shapes of the plates are perfect, and the yellow you put on it really makes it pop. Great job!! Hurray! Hurray!

Thanks so much. I picked up a few things to try some mushrooms next. I have an old table in an upstairs room that I am going to set up so I can leave my plates out and play around with them. That way I can also figure out what I need to make more instead of just picking up pieces that I like but not sure I need.

VERY nice Holly Hurray! Hurray! Thumbs up

I drove by a place the other day and a guy had some in his front yard for sale for 60 dollars EACH! YIKES!

I was also at a thrift store and there was not one decorative plate. I think all the crafters are buying them up Green Grin!

Great idea to set a table up so you know what you need. It's so easy to end up with 20 pieces that just won't go together. Sticking tongue out

Be sure to post pictures of your mushrooms too!

Been quite a while but I finally put together another flower. This one is getting donated to the local Garden Club for a silent auction fundraiser. I sure hope someone bids on it.

Thank you everyone so much. I will let you know how much it sells for. The Garden Club uses the funds for a couple of Scholarships and beautification projects around the city. They pay for the large hanging baskets that are put up in the summer and have several small gardens around the city. One is a Gold Star Memorial garden. So I know the money raised will be used for nice things. Making that didn't cost me more than $6 if that. I also donated a stained glass piece that had been sitting upstairs half finished for several years now. So I finished that last night and it will be going to the donation table tomorrow when I take the greens I cut for the arrangements they will sell.
