The robins are back in my garden after the winter. Saw my first ones yesterday and lots more today.

The juncos are still here but I know they will soon fly off for parts north.

Thanks everyone! I love the birds but wish we didn't have so many grackles and blackbirds this year, they come in bunches and devour the seed and suet quickly!

I get the starlings in the spring that do the same to my suet, they won't stop eating until there isn't a scrap left, it goes pretty fast. Thumbs down

I used to get the coons that would wipe it out overnight...again and again. Now I don't put suet in a suet holder at all. I put out limited amounts of chunks of suet in the morning and it's gone by nightfall.
A sparrow and a couple of Lesser Goldfinch.

And yesterday I was out watching all the bird traffic on the side yard, birds have several trees where they wait during busy bird feeding times for their chance to go to the feeder hanging from the cedar tree. There were quite a lot of birds waiting. I saw this male cardinal waiting on a dead tree branch. I'd been ill and am recovering, so am trying to stay outside more to get my strength back. Bird watching and taking pictures fits in with that nicely!

Nice photos Linda! And very glad to hear you are on the mend. Bird watching & taking pictures also helps mend the soul which goes a long way to mending the body.

Beautiful shots Linda! I like the colors in that Lesser Goldfinch; that's a bird I've never seen before. I especially love that photo of the Cardinal - Gorgeous!

Suet never lasts more than a couple of hours after I put it out in the morning. If I happen to refill the feeders in late afternoon the raccoons always finish it off over night.

Linda: I sure hope you are feeling better today! A little fresh air and bird watching can do wonders when you are recuperating and trying to regain your strength.

It's a warm 78ยบ here already and very windy and cloudy this morning. We've had rain predicted for a few days but so far we've gotten zilch so I sure hope the clouds this morning mean we are in for a downpour. I'd love to see it rain all day; we are so dry that fires are popping up around the area again!

As you can see, it's gray and windy here in Daytona Beach:

Good shots Lin, hard to get decent focus when you have the branches in front like that, drives me crazy sometimes when my camera won't focus where I want it to.

Rainey dreary day but I see so many birds out eating the bird seeds. I just spread my seed out on the driveway and I can see it from my kitchen windows. Grackles, cowbirds, redwing blackbirds, morning doves and sparrows all out there eating. Plus the Robins have been around all day again. Unlike Lin, I have no pictures. Sad I am no good at taking pictures of the birds or butterflies.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Rita, so glad you are seeing so many birds! I hope spring has arrived in your neck of the woods; I see on the news that some folks up north are dealing with snow again and parts of the south had severe weather, hail and tornado's yesterday ... Yikes!!

I envy you the rain ... we are so very dry here and it's causing brush fires in the area. The nearest fire to me is probably @ 8 miles away but it was very windy today (25-30 MPH) and the smoke was so strong this afternoon that I couldn't stay outside for extended periods. Blinking It's been dreary and cloudy here all day but still no raindrops falling ... news predicts that all of central Florida will get it tomorrow and Sunday so I have my fingers crossed.

A couple of photo's I managed to get this afternoon ... a Mockingbird clinging to the feeder and a Blue Jay on the ground looking for a treat:

Nice shots Lin! Yep, I was counting on that predicted rain too but it was a no go. I sure hope they are right about tomorrow & Sunday! I filled up the bird bath again today --- seems the birds are thirsty & dirty (probably pollen coated Hilarious! ) & the bird bath is empty by the end of each day.

Grumbling Still no rain for us today! It's been bright and sunny all day, a really beautiful day but .... we NEED rain! LOL, my husband and his buddy are going for a motorcycle ride tomorrow afternoon so I bet we will finally get rain tomorrow. I told them they better make sure they have their rain gear packed.
