Wow, I have never seen knockout roses in white before. I do like knockouts, they are no fuss bloom machines.

You got that right, I love them! I had some yellow ones and they are called 'Sunny Knockout' ,they did not do well for some reason and I gave them away.

I agree I didn't even know they had white knock outs. the ones I got are double reds. I only got two so far but I'll probably get more later. I have no idea what we're doing with our front of the house since we pulled out all the shrubs. Well, I will use my sweet olive as well but I was thinking near the front door so I pass by the fragrance every day!

My columbines I planted from seed in the garden last fall are finally coming up. Not all, but a few. I'll pot them up until fall and then find a permanent place or sell some at market. I'll never be able to use them all.

Clint, I am not familiar with Amsonia. I'll have to check into it.

Susan, I can't believe your monarda are blossoming already? Wow?

My peonies came out just in time for Mother's Day. Last year they were not good at all, dark, crunchy leaves and the blossoms didn't open. I was afraid I was going to have to dig them up and toss but this year they are gorgeous! Looks like most are huge, double whites with a touch of red in the center, a couple of double pinks and a single dark pink. I'll have to try and get some pictures tomorrow.

stilldew said:The Amsonia is very interesting. Lovely shade of blue. That's a plant I've never tried and need to. The columbine are just starting to open here. Most of mine are seed grown ones. I really like this purple one.

This lavender one grows by the driveway.

The Blue Flax (Linum perenne) are also just starting. They don't last very many years for me, but do gently reseed just enough so that I always have a few blooming each year.

New standard dwarf iris open each day. This is With Castenets.

Rita, you have me looking at tulips. I didn't have any blooming this year and miss them. Your's are inspiring.

Susan, I love With Castenets, Lovey dubby do you perchance remember where you got it?

More columbine opening each day. Iberis and phlox are still looking pretty and new little iris opening daily. Seeing some buds on the tall bearded ones too.

A new color for me this year
It has a dark stem and dark edges around the leaves

it was a late seedling last year that didn't bloom.

Nice plants. I have been smelling my mom's Peonies this year when I visit her. She has the old-fashioned varitey with the great fragrance. I noticed some of the new ones have no smell. I don't like that. Those plants should smell good.

Nice plants, I love those Peonies but what is the fourth one? Mine is getting ready to open but it is still in a pot because I can not figure out where I want to plant it. Sad

Open this and check out the ants! Green Grin!

beautiful pics, I'm enjoying them!. Arlene's 4th pic is Jupiter's Beard, aka Centranthus ruber, aka red valerian. I have lots of it's too. Prolific self sower, but I still love it.

To see more things blooming, check out the Pacific NW's forum, thread 'May Flowers'. That's where I tend to post my pics.

Really like the orange Iris. Do you know it's name?

Cindy, that is a lovely dark purple columbine.

The first 2 flowers on my tree peony opened today.

LOVE the Nine Lives and Tiny Dancer!!!

Rita, what is the first shrub? I'm not very good at shrubs...

A friend gave me one of those orange iris last fall. I couldn't believe how orange is is! Beautiful!

Clint, all of my peonies are the old fashioned ones, even though I don't know their names, they all are fragrant. What's the point if you dont have the fragrance? Hilarious! Hilarious!
