Susan, I thought Rita's fifth iris photo was pink with a dark edge. Maybe it's purple.

Your iris are gorgeous.

I was hoping I would have lots of surprises when the iris my mother gave me blossomed but it didn't happen so maybe next year I will get some other colors. And as usual, I didn't get around to marking the colors! Thumbs down

The iris row is great, My first tall bearded to open is a varigated one. The flowers aren't impressive, but the foliage is very fresh and pretty each spring.Thumb of 2013-05-20/stilldew/4f7e3b

I took some photos of my tree peony when it was in full bloom, but somehow deleted them. Here it is after 2 days of rain. Not looking so well, but you can see how the trees in the park have greened up.Thumb of 2013-05-20/stilldew/8cd591

A nice purple columbine in the back yard.

This columbine seeded itself in a crack about 1/4" wide between the driveway and the fireplace. It has bloomed there happily for at least 5 years now.Thumb of 2013-05-20/stilldew/705fe5
More columbine.

I never saw a varigated iris before, how unusual. Love that garden view you have, so pretty.

Cinda - They look more blue at different times of day. At times they look lilac. It's in my top 5 plants.

The iris in the crack is really more lavender than blue, not sure why it looks so blue in the e photo.

You are right about the varigated iris Jo Ann. It is iris palladia varigata. The stripes start out yellow and then turn white with age, so they have both yellow and white on the same plant at times. I'm glad to share with anyone that would like to try them. I end up throwing them away sometimes because they multiply very well for me.

How long do the Amsonia bloom Clnt? The blue is striking.

Here is a whiite columbine that usually comes true from seed.
