I've got them living in the woods behind my yard. I heard it yesterday, then saw it fly across the sky but no time for a camera shot. The bumble bees are much easier subjects!
Had the most wonderful experience today down in the garden. This beautiful butterfly flew in front of me, circled around me than almost like it knew I wanted to get a photo it landed right in front of my feet sat and posed for a few pics then flew away. I saw it latter in the upper garden, but I suppose it was too busy to stop for more photos.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Zebra Butterfly in person. What luck to find a photogenic one!
We get a lot of these, though. This Red Admiral followed me around the garden today. The trick was catching it with its wings flat. This one mostly liked to keep them together, and only separated them for the blink of an eye.

Can't seem to catch either a butterfly or hummer still enough for a photo. Hummers have been back for a week or two, males first, females have arrived now.

To conclude the saga, Pard returned from his love fest and was, yesterday, assisting with daylily weeding. Sorry for the blurry foto...I was surprised to see him hard at work.
