The main thing that has held me in check is rust. I feel that I have to do as much research as I can before buying to maximize my chances of bringing rust-resistant plants into my garden since I don't spray any chemicals. Even so, I sometimes have to get rid of them when plants prove susceptible in spite of that. I am very cautious, but I will sometimes take a flyer on a plant I know nothing about. Sometimes that works out.

Oh yes Donna, you needed all of those!

Dianne, The X Factor is going on my want list. It's an Evergreen, please let me know how it does in Zone 3b. I'd love to cross it with my Avatar Color changer.
God blessed me with dirt.

I love the names of some of these daylilies; we've listed some of the other crazy names before.

Donna, I don't dare check to see if there is an actual daylily named I Need an Intervention for fear I might like it.

One daylily I was keeping an eye on at the LA, "Wine Country", just sold a SF for $125. Blinking
Over at Floyd Cove it is $100, and I am sure you would get more than 1 fan for that.

They used to have a sold out list but their new website is not so good so I cannot tell why the LA SF went for so much money. Confused Maybe gangsters laundering money, daylilies would be a great way to do that. Thinking

Definitely, it was not on the 2021/2022 sold out pdf when I checked previously.
One of the myriad of mysteries of the LA, I suppose.
At least I never would have bid that high so I do not feel I missed out. Shrug!

Neither am I; just bought Small World Looney Tunes (already posted WEPG and Little Castaway - doh). I'm bidding on a couple of others, watching a few more and trying to keep my finger off the "bid now" button. Hilarious!

None here either,

And bidding on a couple more - actually I prefer buying outright, not that fond of bidding.

@2Dogsmother ,

Regarding the spelling of "Lightening" in Heavenly White Lightening, I distinctly recall having a conversation with a Kevin Walek, who was then AHS registrar at the time, on this very subject. ( I had asked Kevin about the incorrect spelling). Kevin told me that the hybridizer had insisted on that exact spelling, even when Kevin told him it was incorrect. Jamie's spelling refers to something getting lighter, and we all think of the bolts flashing through the sky, so maybe the hybridizer wished the name to mean something different than we think. So, in this case, and in some others, the hybridizers wish prevailed.

There where several instances when I served as AHS Awards Chair
( and had to meticulously proofread the awards ballot for errors) when a hybridizer submitted one of her registrations for an award. One word in the cultivar name is considered acceptable spelling in Europe, but is spelled differently in the US. I asked her about the spelling, and she said she wanted to leave it. ( she was born in Europe and had registered the spelling that way) Since AHS is the International Registering body for daylilies, spellings in other languages are accepted. ( except people must be very careful with Latin words, as they must not coincide with botanical names of other species.)
