The March bloom I posted was a year we had 2 weeks of summer weather in the middle of the month.Everything came on,then April came freezes and nearly all my Asiatic liliy tips were frozen. The lilies bloomed but I didnt photo, they looked awful.
I would say in a normal year Feb.Gold was about the same time as yours.
This winter is legend for long deeply frozen days from Jan til March. Lots of deep snow too, I am just seeing tops of daffs and large cup narcissus emerging.I dont think I will see blooms until late in the month.

I apologise , I forgot to take extremes into account.. I just hope we get at least 5 frosts.. In my observations, that is the daffodil amount needed! I don't think I have been so excited about Daffodils as much as I have for this 'coming season'

No apology necessary. Good luck with your daffs. I know the blooms will be a real event considering the chances you are taking with the pre cooling time needed.

Above are Carlton, Barrett Browning, and Fragrant Breeze. Carlton is a great, reliable, landscape Daffodil. Barrett Browning is my first white/orange to bloom, and increases well. Fragrant Breeze is one I haven't seen offered for a few years, it came from Van Engelen, and lives up to it's name. A lovely fragrance, and softer than other fragrant Daffs.

This triandus is fragrant like Thalia, but has a double cup. I've had it for many years and have lost the name.

And the "pink" varieties are well under way! It will always bug me that they call them pink, they simply are not. Lots of lovely shades of peach, coral, and salmon- colors that I love Smiling

Quite the display Neal! Has anyone planted Daffs or other bulbs among pachysandra? At this time of year they'll get good sun but it will be much shadier when the trees leaf out.

I just finished reading through this whole thread. You guys have some amazing collections!!

My favorite daff in my yard is this variety. I don't know it's name. Small blooms, 2-3 per stem. Mid-season bloomer. Very good naturalizer and smells wonderful! My first bouquet of the year.

Jumping in with a few pictures of some of mother's daffs. She did not mark them. Also some that a friend of mine just gave me, she did not mark hers either. Would be nice to know the names so I can mark them for my kids. Love them all. Beautiful pictures everyone.Spring is the best time of year for gardening. Camera is getting older and some may be a little blurry, or it could just be me. Sorry.

Hi Everyone,

I love your daffodils. Any suggestions on how to divide them? These guys have been here for who knows how long, the family we bought the house from had lived here for a lot of years.
