Pat & Robin, you both spoke up for the tall variegated hostas from Sheela. I split an extra piece of each from the divisions I kept -- would you like one of each?

I'm trying to finish up my pot labels and update a few that have been recently claimed before printing them out. This evening I started putting trays of plants for the swap at the top of the driveway... there are a good many! Smiling

@RalphGamba, I have you down for knotweed 'Painter's Palette'. I also found a pot of 'Lance Corporal' (similar, but just has a chevron marking, not the white variegation) -- do you want it?

@RalphGamba, @sulurph, you're the only ones so far who have called dibs on Geranium 'Biokovo'. Can you use 3 of them? (I have 8 pots)

I emailed Sheela to ask about the mystery grass and this mystery plant... anybody have a guess? I'm sure she told me what both were, and I just didn't remember after we'd chatted and visited a while.

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

The blooms don't really have a sent. The leaves have sort of a sharp herbal scent when brushed... some people love it, some not so much. Reminds me a bit of Cuban Oregano. I'll put your name on one. If you don't want it after you sniff it, foist it off on somebody!

@5601Lisa and @sulurph, you were interested in Sedum sarmentosum. How much do you want? I have some 4" pots of it, but today while I was taking a break in the shade I pulled up enough to densely fill a 12" saucer... give it a week or two, and it'll be solid roots, easy to pull apart into planting plugs. Or just sprinkle it onto bare ground... So plmk if you just want a couple of pots or if you'd like the saucer also.

Rick, no worries, I've got a flat of it already for you.

OK. One has a striking white streak down the center, the other has what I've always thought of as "flame" markings, with the white stronger in some areas. I know, a photo would help!

Jill I will be happy with either two 4" pots or the saucer. The little bit I already have has rooted nicely and helps with weed control.

OK!

Finally getting my labels printed.

Martina came by just now to pick up her plants from Black Creek, and I sent her home with plenty of other extras. She might come by mid-afternoon tomorrow to visit but has a church thing (investing new decons and lunch afterwards).

OK, then there will be 2 variegated tall hostas on the "help yourself" table!

I also have a piece of this blue-green tall hosta, the one on the left behind the dragon...

Jill,
I believe your tall blue-green hosta is called Krossa Regal.

Jill,
I know your getting 2 of the plant shelves. How many Aldi shovels did you want? (I have 3)

Rick, I'll take all 3 shovels and give 2 to the kids next door (one now, one when the younger one gets a little bigger) -- thank you!

I think I remember buying Krossa Regal long ago (and this one was definitely planted many years ago). Thanks for the ID!

So, anybody want their name on a piece of 'Krossa Regal'?

I just want to say, making deviled eggs in a large quantity was more of a challenge than I anticipated. From now on, I am leaving it to the expert! I ran out of miracle whip, so I used both french dressing (Terri's recipe) and some thousand island dressing (which is sort of like french and miracle whip combined). I started with a potato masher, then moved to a hand beater, and ended up getting out my stand mixer. Also, I mis-remembered Terri's text about how many she usually makes, so... there will be a LOT of devilied eggs there! I think I'll sprinkle some with smoked paprika, just to change it up.

I hadn't made devilied eggs in at least 30 years, and when growing up we probably did only 4 eggs at a time. I remember mashing the yolks with a fork in a cereal bowl.

I also had an argument with the printer and a template issue, but by golly I have sticky printed labels this year rather than scribbled ones!

I just gave everything a good drink, so of course it will rain overnight. I have groups of plants going up the side of my driveway and still have a few to find. May end up boxing and packing in the morning, hopefully not in the rain.

Ok Jill, they're marked. The total is $59 minus what ever I owe for the plant trays.

Bringing Extras...
- Celandine Poppy (Stylophorum diphyllum)
- Hosta 'Lancifolia'
- Ostrich Fern (Matteuccia struthiopteris)
- 6-pocket, gallon size nursery plant carry trays
- 1/4 round plant shelves (Aldi, $9.00 each)

I was hoping to bring some different hosta, but, as usual, work got in the way.

Rick, I'll send you treemail so I can get your paypal address.

I didn't get around to sorting out nursery pots but will set some aside when I do and bring them to the fall swap. I have a few things to try to dig/pull in the morning -- SDB iris rhizomes, garlic chives, variegated vinca. I'll do what I can. I was outside at dusk sticking labels on basil and pepper plants! I thought I had so much done ahead of time, but just sorting out what I'd already potted took so much longer than I'd thought!

I know I've missed a few things. Didn't find where I'd stashed Lisa's mini cattails, haven't pulled your garlic chives or variegated vinca... We'll see if I have a few minutes before I need to head out!
