de Graaff makes no referrence in either of his books to Lazy Lady as it might relate to the Harlequin Hybrids. According to B&D, Lazy Lady was bred by the Dutch and is the first of a series of several heirloom types to come out of trials, all of which will resemble the old Harlequin Hybrids. It's interesting to note that the original seeds which led to the development of the Harlequins came from Luthur Burbank. And, while de Graaff and the Oregon Bulb Farm hold credit for developing and marketing it it, they don't deserve it all. Much of the development work was done by a Dr Patterson of Canada and another U.S. grower (who's name escapes me) who also were given seed by Burbank. All three growers discovered this colorfull group at the same time from Burbank's seed.
