Hope the 'stuff' includes your laptop so you can check in with us while you are away? That's a really L~O~ N~G trip you're taking - Whew!

I can't imagine being away from my house, cat and garden that long. I am dependent upon them.

We'll miss seeing your beautiful flowers, but will miss your smiling face and comments even more.

As many of you know, cattleya alliance plants are what I like to grow, primarily because of their large flowers and fragrance. For some reason, all six of my 'Elmhurst' plants and now both of my 'Emerald Isle' plants have bloomed in the last six weeks. Previously they were both fall bloomers. Perhaps they have now become twice-a-year bloomers? Also, the Blc. Copper Queen is in bloom and has nine more buds to open, along with the four flowers. These are "dainty" flowers, only measuring 4" in diameter, but the number of flowers makes up for the small size. The 'Emerald Isle' has 6" flowers and the 'Elmhurst', 7" flowers.

I'm more a fan of smaller, more numerous flowers so I'm loving the 'Copper Queen'. Be sure and post another picture as more flowers open!

I do have one of my big catts out in the garden getting ready to pop. More buds on some of the Brassavolas, as well.

I'm just trying to pack and wrap things up here. Out in the OC, there are a few things blooming. First up is this Epi Mabel Kanda 'Miyao' X Cordigerum 'Paradise'.

Then there is the Brassavola nodosa that Ted says was pouting when you last saw her. This is her chance at redemption.

The OC is filled with a light perfume fragrance which makes it a delight to be out there. Several others are in bud but I will surely miss them flowering. Oh well...

They do, Susan. I think a lot of Vanda flowers have that 'snout'.

I'm green with envy over the lovely Brassavola nodosa. I've had one for nearly 3 years, and paid a lot for it in bloom. Nary a bloom since then! All my other Brassies bloom, too!

It looks more like an Encyclia than an Epi to me. I think sometimes they interchange those names.

My Octomeria grandiflora usually has some spotted leaves, but it is blooming really nicely.

Beautiful, Ursula. I consider your post my going away gift! My favorite has to be the Coelogyne but they are all nice.

I just packed my Jocky shorts! Hilarious!

I agree Those little dutch shoes are so cute! I've heard the Coelogyne are hard to bring to bloom, do you anything special with yours?
