Lisa - I thought I sold it to you. It definitely likes your garden better than mine.

Cindy - Frozen Margarita performs better for me than it did for Bob Schwarz. I get better branching and more bud count. Last year it tied with Grape Twizzler for best branching and bud count from my tet UFs. Both of those beat my Stamiles, Wilkersons and Davissons by a country mile.

Lisa - Be sure to get them from me! I need to divide both this fall. Those two clumps are about to eat up less vigorous UFs growing around them. By the way, both are pod fertile.

Oh my gosh, how do you pick a favorite here now. I can't keep up with this post anymore. But I really really like Bullfrog Kisses. But I do love red eyes as you can see by the following:

Dot

Can't Touch This was awesome this morning.

Caesar Augustus first flower open.

Ima Masterpiece, finally decent enough to post. It opened a whole bouquet for me.

Over Heated sure is orange.

Raymon Duane, named for my son, he picked it out of my limited seedlings.

Talladega, I finally sprayed for thrips again and was rewarded with these awesome blooms.

Voila Francois and in clump strength. VF has these awesome widely branched scapes. I have never seen anything like it.

Too many beauties for me to pick one favorite or even 2 or 3.

Speaking of "hotties" here is the first bloom on Alabama Jubilee which is a new one for us this year. It may not be a new DL, but it turns up the heat for us--love the color.

I have a question though. I'm still a newbie. Why did you not cut the prolif off long ago & pot it up by itself? I thought that was the way to do it. I just had a prolif on a NOID that I like & cut it off, stuck it in water & when the roots were long enough I potted it up. I have done this many times with prolifs. Am I doing things wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong but you can also air layer prolifs which creates a larger extensive root sytem by securing foil around the prolif and adding soil. There is a how to article by Dan Trimmer in The Daylily Journal winter 2012 issue.

Avedon, Alabama Jubilee was one of my first daylilies bought in 1998. I have a huge clump of it now and will always grow it. It multiplies very well and blooms it head off. If you hybridize, it will set a seed pod on every bloom. It's just such a garden standout. Seems like it glows when viewed from afar..

Now, as far as all the others, WOWOWOW, I'd never be able to pick a favorite. Dot, your's just take my breathe and all the others are just as stunning. I just have to get Viola Frances. It sure is awesome. Lovely all of them.
