Oh no Ginger so sorry to hear about the edema I've been there with that twice in my life and it is very painful. I don't understand how people are not willing to help others, it always boggles me how selfish some can be. I hope your car can be fixed soon and it is not too expensive.

We rearranged the living room today to get ready for my MIL's things and the hospital bed. Archie is a trooper like nothing has happened but Moose knows something is up.

A really nice weather day here. Lily and I went with my dear friend and her dog for a nice exercise walk/ Then we came home and sat on my front porch and enjoyed the day while the two dogs played.

To make it even nicer for them I gave them both doggy treats. Wolfish skin chews and freeze dried anchovy snacks.

Hi so glad I found the pet forum today!

I enjoy photography mostly at home..

Lily is my child, she is an unusual cat with her markings
I adopted her from a shelter almost 9 years ago
in Alabama.

I never tire of photographing her
I trained her to walk on a leash
and soft harness...here in the rural area.

We go outside daily and she has a huge cage to lie in the shade
on cool mornings with her fleece blankets...

to hear and see the birds
and squirrels and deer.

Always make sure she is never left in the sunshine on warm or hot days
while she is in the cage enjoying the outdoors.

She gets to walk outside with me every day also.

Once a week I take four fragrance free towels
and wet them with warm water and I wipe her
down and even her paws.

I then dry her with a dry towel..

One year ago she had her first but not necessary steroid shot
at the animal clinic.

She had a stroke within one hour at home.

Her eyes were affected even the pupils were not the same for months..

and face and who knows what else

Another vet said it was a cranial stroke.

So no return to the vet I trusted for 30 years because he was not
concerned when I called him after I left his office and the stroke
and damage began to Lily.

She is doing well now..one year later...with much prayers from friends and
myself.. Jesus healed her.

Sherri, Lily is beautiful! Lovey dubby

Very happy to hear that she recovered from her stroke - but do you have any idea what actually caused it? The steroid itself? Air embolism? And how in the world could that vet not be concerned?? Blinking

nature keeps amazing me
I've said this before and I'm gonns say it again- The vets we trust with our pets lives need to held responsible for neglegent treatment, missed diagnosis, hurried exams and generally crappy visits. The last time I had Fat Cat to the vet for a final eye check up there were children in the next room shreiking there heads off..it went on for a while. I guess they were waititng for their pet but the mother could not shut them up and Fat Cat was extremely stressed by the noise, By the time I saw the vet I was stressed! I was furious and I let her know. I did research on his eye problem and questioned her decisions on a few things just to make sure he was getting the best treatment. I'm not going to sit there and nod my head and agree with something that I don't feel is right.

Good for you, Brenda. I had a children out of control and a negligent parent situation while waiting to see a doctor at Kaiser's Drop[ in clinic. I think I mentally shot past the ability to confront either parent or children without screaming so I sat it out. I think I complained to the intake worker.

Made it into town and stocked up on food for the dogs and the cat. I'm headed north either tomorrow or Saturday and I like to leave lots for the animals; one less chore for Tony while I'm gone. On my way home I was reflecting on how much more I spend on food for the animals than for myself. But there are five of them and only one of me.

I was able to get through a narrow space in the store and a Mexican woman called me "skinny." It made my day.

Carniss was surveying the outside from her perch on the windowsill of last night's hotel room.

When we got into our room tonight the first thing she had to do was make the 3 foot or better jump from the desk to the top of the bureau and see just WHAT was behind the TV.
