That is cold Katie when even a Christmas cactus gets frostbite inside. Do you have a woodstove or an oil furnace that you can use to heat your home? One electric heater certainly is not enough to warm even a small room. Two more months of cold with not much heat is terrible. Put on lots of layers of clothing at least. It helps somewhat and a nice electric blanket might be nice too. Another thing that would keep you toasty warm at night would be a feather filled duvet. Its warmth may even help you with your leg pain. Here I always believed Mexico was a hot country, boy was I wrong.

I ended up spending most of the day in bed due to pain in my legs. Facebook has a lot of ads which claim to help with leg pain. Does anyone here have actual experience with anything which has helped with leg pain. I have Norco for pain and compression stockings. I'm sure a Margarita would help but I don't want to blow my sobriety. I'm to the point where the two steps from computer to bed about kill me.

A great-grandmother on my father's side spent the last months 9or maybe years) of her life in bed, waited on by her daughter (my grandmother) and complaining a lot. I complain about the pain but not about people, hoping to get a few karma points.

Katie, I take Gabapentin for nerve pain. It seems to work at least it makes me so tired that I sleep many hours without waking up, can't feel the pain then. When I was in hospital Dr. recommended something like A535 Rub applied to my ankles.

I sometimes use Benadryl the same way. It puts me to sleep. The woman I gave a ride to had broken her foot off of her leg!! She spent six months in bed. At least, I can still limp around.

Katie, do you think a wheelchair or a walker might help you. Maybe if you don't put weight on your legs there won't be as much pain.

I have a walker. I don't use it much. What I'm wondering is whether anyone has used one of the exercise programs and did it work. FB has a bunch of them advertised. I have a deskcycle that I use. I'm sure that losing weight would help. I'm mostly wondering about exercise.

I'm past grumpy. My TV person was just here hooking up a Firestick and explaining to both me and Tony how it works. To add to the confusion all four dogs thought it was a party. I'm just exhausted. Don't know if I will remember anything so for now I'm sticking with my old system. Rachel Maddow is on tonight and I don't want to miss her. For now, I just need to lie down.

Grumpy because the first day at my new job was a sh**show...

Absolutely terrible management. They have no idea what's going on. They couldn't tell me when I work tomorrow, only that I do. Didn't give me an access card and then laughed and gave me "I don't know" when I asked how to get in the building. Laughed and gave me "I don't know" when I asked when I'm supposed to come in. Same when I asked who I could find out from. Same when I asked if I'm supposed to be clocking in and out (kind of need to know because I'd like to get freaking paid). They put me with someone who's worked there for 3 months to shadow, and he told me he still barely knows what's going on because there's next to no management to help guide you.

I'm not happy at all. I don't want to go back because it was a bad experience and I don't feel like it's going to work out. So I don't know what to do. The vet told me I could come back if it didn't work out. It only sucks because I hate the vet so much and was so excited to get out. So I don't know what to do now. I don't even know at this point if I work tomorrow. I'm at a loss right now.

I didn't want to say anything, but I kind of figured you might not like working there. I'd hoped it could be different than the one my sister worked at.

I would suggest you write everything down while fresh in mind at least.
Plant it and they will come.

I had an equally bad day today.

I wrote up a resignation and called them out on all the problems. Just trying to get myself to send it. I'm only hesitating because I don't want to go back to the vet. But I don't think I have a choice. I'm two days in and already feeling like it's not going to work out. I have some major safety concerns with the place too. No safety training, no Material Safety Data Sheets on site (which is illegal to not have). They left another new person (also on his second day) to show me how to do something he didn't know how to do, which almost resulted in an explosion. Two days in and almost got injured due to carelessness. There still seems to be zero management or proper supervision. I just don't see this working out...

I'm so, so disappointed...

Turn them in. They will show up and do an inspection and if they find enough violations they will shut them down.

I ended up sending the resignation. Not sure how I feel about it... cause now I have to contact my boss at the vet and ask to come back. And I reaaally don't want to go back. But I started browsing today and didn't find much to apply for. The only one I found, I got a rejection email literally 10 minutes later.

I feel so much dread right now. Absolutely dreading going back because I wanted out so bad.

It's got to be the PTSD still causing so much anxiety. It was caused by working in vet emerg. It's got to be why I feel so much anxiety about this vet. I just don't know how to move past it... I don't know how to fight it... I don't know what to do.

Feel like I maybe made a mistake... I don't know.

As of right now, I'd like to do medical laboratory science. But I need more schooling for that. If I do it in Canada, I need a 3 year program. If I do it in the US, I can do an online program through Berkeley (4 courses), a few extra courses at another school, and then apply for a 1 year program for it.

I live in a small crappy town not surrounded by much, so my job options are severely limited here...

For right now, I just need something till May. Then I want to try to go to California for 6 months and stay with my fiance. As a sort of trial run to see what life would be like out there. After that... I don't know what to do. Guess I'm stuck returning and looking for more crappy jobs...
