Today I cleaned up 3 raised Iris beds. They are 4' x 8'. I have 18 different Iris in each in 3 rows of 6. Most of them are doing well with a lot of increases but some are struggling. I will pot up a few of those and keep a close eye on the rest. Now I am getting anxious for my bloom season to get here.

But first I have 12 + more raised Iris beds to get cleaned up and examined. It would be great if I could get 3 done per day before the rain comes.

Daughter of Stars is one of my All Time Favorites!!!
This new one opened fully last night / early morning in the light rain we are having. Singularity's maiden bloom for me. I don't think there is another iris like it. Unfortunately I have to split the plant with my friend because we bought it together, but it has grown well and has 5 increases. Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! Hurray!

I suggest a slightly smaller font so that the focus is on the bloom. The large, bold style kind of dominates the image. Also a smaller font will allow more room for 2 lines of text.

What does the "M" stand for?

Blinded by the Light is one I will need to find for my gardens. I want an intense orange this year and that fits the bill. Will post pictures as my irises bloom. Alot are buried in weeds still as I try to restore the various areas of the gardens but while those buried probably won't bloom they are still good and healthy and will be ok for another year. A friend is helping me uncover them this year so hopefully I get the main beds done this year. Crossing Fingers!

Laurie - I'm playing around with some fonts/styles. I'll see which one suits best - M stands for mid, or midseason bloom.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of tags on photos, especially if they are added to the database and so all that information is available on the related page. It's just adding clutter to a photo that doesn't necessarily need to be there.

However, if you do add tags/labels in the photos, my recommendation would be to make it unobtrusive so that it doesn't overlap key parts of the image, nor distract from what you're trying to capture/show with the photo.
