Gate To Paradise has quite a few more buds. I do not know if any more flowers will have extra standards or falls. They are all so different, it is really hard to pick a favorite! I do think it is important to mix some solid colors along with flowers that have multiple colors in them.

The extra falls is most likely weather related. One of my Dad's cultivar does that if it gets cold when the flower is forming. Usually just the first bud and then the rest are fine.

Hit up a greenhouse today and found me an orange iris. Not quite the intense orange like Brad came up with but it's supoosed to bloom orange.

This is the second year for it. I had actually thought I lost it. I had lost the tag to it last year over the winter. So, this year when it is apparently making up lost time, I was able to identify it properly.

Glorious littles, Andrea! I simply cannot get enough of them.

Today was a good day. While I was doing some Uber Eats deliveries, I had spare time to check a local nursery and picked up a new potted iris!

TB His Royal Highness

I am always happy to have more irises, but especially if it is from MONTY Byers. Rebloomer, too! Smiling

I had quite a few buds unfurl, but a lot stayed closed up. I will have many more tomorrow.

TB Table for Two - first year bloom. Oh how I love this one already.
Thumb of 2024-04-16/BlueRidgeGardener23/435c9d

TB Mariposa Autumn - bloomed short as it is battling some rot.
Thumb of 2024-04-16/BlueRidgeGardener23/59527c

BB Cranapple - GORGEOUS blooms, but very tiny flowers. Nearly MTB sized in my humble opinion

IB Limonada - second year bloom. Such a lemony yellow, applicably named.

One of my littles absolutely is a performer. This is a year one clump of Perfectionist.

Wow, you all have so many blooms, hard to keep up with so many posts, but fun to see. I have little blooms stalks on the little ones, my Pussy Toes did bloom, one bloom that lasted one day, I didn't get around to get a picture the first day, then when I went to take one the second day it was all shriveled up. It's pretty early here, but I think we're going to have an early season. My cherry tree is starting to show bloom already.

I have three SDBs that have survived after all: Looking so Fine is budded
https://wiki.irises.org/Sdb/Sd...

And Bluebeard's Ghost and Girl Power are still alive.

So my loss of SDBs is not as bad as I thought.

I have never gotten the garden cleared of leaves and last year's iris foliage, but last spring I did get nemotodes onto all the iris, so perhaps the borers won't be too bad. They are looking pretty good, actually. One advantage of not clearing the leaves in early spring is that for the first time the deer did not move in immediately afterwards and eat the newly exposed tips of the iris.

I have buds slowing on my Tulips but have not checked my SDB's yet. I am going to redo the SDB bed as soon as they bloom and I know what is where for sure. That is going to be a big job. I will only keep several of each and get rid of the rest either by selling or giving away. Garden phlox is growing in that bed which is the reason for the redo.

First bloom. Strong winds today so it's now pretty battered but I got this pix at least. Have what looks to be a yellow ready to bloom next. Both rescues from my old house. Hoping we don't put it on the market until I can see all the blooms and make sure I rescue any I may want extras of in case I missed one.

My blooms are not lasting very long in this heat either. (80's) Fortunately, next week my area is going back to more normal temps for this time of year. (50's and 60's)
New blooms today.

How do you upload pictures to the database when the irises info has not been inputed yet? I have some 2023's that I would like to add.
