Someone in our town had some and they really did become a problem. I notice they are gone not, but not sure what they used to get rid of them, I didn't see any pink flamingos, so I'm pretty sure they didn't use those. We do need to remember, what is one person's weed is another's glorious flower. Big Grin I have a spot in my garden that I think one might look nice, I just worry about them jumping boundries and ending up all over the garden beds or investing the neighbors yards. I never realized it was such a problem. Whistling Big Grin

Chris, we just can't get this dangerous species into enough Cubits to warn them. I am so happy that you were thoughtful enough to do that. Please use it anywhere you think it might be useful.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to post pics here. I haven't had time to look up all the info on them. So Lynn, if you need me to delete them from this thread, just let me know.

I also would love some suggestions on how to put my arrangement together if anyone has any ideas. I'm not even sure how close to plant them, but maybe I'll find that out when I look them up tomorrow.

Ok, just wanted ya'll to see my new babies.

Debbie

Oh Debbie, please don't delete them. I can't even pick a favorite. For name I will have to say 'Calico Kitten'. I may have to make a trip to Home Depot. They are all wonderful. Can't wait to see how you plant them. Nice thing about these plants is you can plant them pretty much anyway that looks good to you. Please post photo when you are finished. We are waiting. Thumbs up

Thank you Lynn. I need to find a bowl like container or something special to put them in. I'll play with them tomorrow. I have a few succulents (no id) that came back for me and I have the 3 Sir Wm. Lawrence Sempervivumt and Kent Beauties coming from the co op. I'll look at ya'll's pictures and try to figure out what I want to do. There were so many others that I wanted as well, but........... I'll get some more next time. Smiling

Check out the Succulents Container plantings in the LINK section over on the right side of this page. I'm sure you will get some great ideas from that site. It's amazing.

Debbie, my guess is the little brown spots on the leaf-ends of your echiveria are part of its coloring. Nice healthy batch of plants, there!

Debbie, I'm sorry I missed the above question about the spots. I agree with Janet, just leave them. Did you check out the link on containers? I just went and looked at some more of them. It's amazing to see how each person displays their plants. I just love it.

Just wanted to let you all know I made a bunch of picture entries into the Jovibarba and Sempervivum databases tonight. It is getting exciting to see the changes from one month to another. Some are extremely vivid in color right now and some have bright violet stolons. Don't forget to date your pictures when you go to put them in.
Take a look at this one. http://cubits.org/sedumandsemp...

Just back from looking. The changes are amazing - no wonder it's so hard to ID semps. I have some of the same semps in different locations at my house and they don't even look the same. Lynn, are a bunch of those your new ones from the co-op?

Yes, I also entered some heuffs. I should go out and take pictures of the ones my DIL got me. I entered them in the database right after she bought them. Very pretty. Then they spent a whole week in transit. Boy do they look different. The color is all washed out and their shape has changed. Poor babies, you would even recognize them.

I changed the Plant of the Month.
Also changed the order of photos in the Sempervivum Database so the most colorful pic shows in the search of Cultivars. Let me know what you think. I still have them showing in order of dates for progressive changes. I think I will go back and add another field for chick counts, What do all of you think?
Would also be fun to have a contest. I would provide the prize of say 10 different culivars of sedum and semps (both or just one).
Anyone have ideas for a contest?

The databases are growing fast. They look good. I like the colorful photos in the search for sempervivum. Chick counts would be a fun thing to know, but not sure I'll be able to keep up with that on the ones I posted....just have so much stuff going on right now.

Contests are always fun! No ideas yet but I'll put on my thinking cap!

Thinking caps, yes maybe that will help. Where do I get one Chris? Big Grin
Thinking caps every one, lets see if we can come up with a really fun and interesting contest for our Cubit. I will provide the prize for the winner.
Just whenever you see a hen and it is an easy time to do it, count her chicks, you don't need to worry about getting them all done. Blinking
It's so much easier for me now that I don't work away from home.
I did find out something new. If a semp is planted separate as a specimen it will get much bigger (usually) and have more chicks. A planting I will go. Rolling on the floor laughing
I think that will be my new project, plant a specimen of each cultivar, let the rest grow naturally. Whistling
