Spent most of the day in the yard, so I'm wiped out. Here's a few shots of individual plants that are still looking good. I had to really tighten up the shots so as to not to include the half-dead plants in the photos.

Lisa, where in west TN are you? It seems cruel that you're getting blistering heat and dryness now that your end of the state is recovering from record flooding.

We had a violent storm here Tuesday in west Knoxville. Strong winds, golf-ball size hail, power outages for a few hours, tree debris down everywhere, but very little rain. Today's yard work was mostly picking up leaves and branches off the crispy lawn and running sprinklers. I also took pity on the "extra" tomato plants that have been sitting here in tiny pots for months and stuck them in the ground. Imagine a three foot tall tomato plant in a 4" pot. If the transplanting in 90 degree temps kills them, well then at least they're out of their misery!

Red you just reminded me that the 5 pots of Sunny Knockout roses are not yet in the ground. I got them on sale at Walmart a few weeks ago and with one thing and another they didn't get planted. Some of them look almost dead now
Wonder if they'll make it if I keep them watered?

I'm in South Jackson. We had lots of flood water here...then it turned into heat and humidity. We get a little rain shower on a regular basis...but the heat still rises.

I don't know a lot about anything...but I do know if there is any green left on the bush at all...it will grow. If you cut all the 'dead look' away...it will grow.

Thanks Lisa. Roses aren't my strong point yet I moved here last fall from NY where roses didn't do very well for me.
