Fujian with the extended heat and drought pale pink! Nearly white! Silk Road, a rock star among lilies, kept her composure and color during the same time last year. Glad this year has been better for lilies. But know that weather can be directly tied to performance with many.

'Ditto' on the stamina of Silk Road, Tracey. It's not one of my favorites, but I give it an A+ for standing up to last years heat and drought and then, still came foward with a super performance this year.

So that's Telesto, Nice. I made the huge mistake of planting my BD order without tags last fall. Now I'm paying the price (as is an unnamed moderator).

Thanks Pard. Waaaay better this year than last year. A couple came to me with virus, which of course makes me a little more nervous. Some of the deeper colors are the ones I love. I just hope they last. I'm not sure that they will. Time will tell.

This one is the only lily I have ever met that actually almost melted in our extended heat and drought last year. This year.... redemption. 'Blueberry Crush' tries to plead here case to me. (please, please let me stay)

'Kiss of Fire'. third year here. It's just nothing I would ever buy again. Maybe if I lived in the Northwest...

I bought kiss of fire for fall planting from B&D I'm a little worried if that's what it looks like in it's third year!

Tracey--I'm surprised the color held out so well the last few days with that bright sun and high 90's. It never fails; happens every year--just when my Midnights and dark pink Trumpets open. I just snap a pic, collect pollen and disbud. Your's look great!

Kiss of Fire is in a not full sun spot in order to preserve color. My soil is quite alkaline, sometimes I wonder if that is a factor in color. But then so many times it certainly isn't. I'm just not a fan of this one. Maybe those in the Northwest will have better luck.

Don't let my experience scare you off. Next year post how yours turned out. Comparing outcomes gives folks a better idea.

Well according to B&D it holds it's color and gets even darker as it ages so I guess we'll see just how well it does here in Southern California next year.

I think if your trials aren't in other climates, they can only vouch for what happens in their trials in the Northwest. I don't begrudge them. It would take a lot of work to trial across the country in various zones or climates and keep data records. It will be interesting to see how yours turns out. It could be a beauty for you. When it comes to lilies I am often willing to chance it. Green Grin!
