Ditto on the Barbosella cogniauxiana! Do you think the cool spells were confusing the anceps? Many of mine are forming spikes now.

Sure! You are all welcome Smiling I guess the 10 degree drop from our usual hot 95-100F weather is enough for this Barbosella to bloom. Overnights are also starting to go 59F..so maybe that completes its cool requirement as well.

A nice glass of wine is sure to cure that..... Smiling

How about some funky Doodaflatchie guy?
Bulbophyllum saltatorium flowers have a cute little brush that wiggles with the slightest breeze. Not exactly a Corsage orchid?

I'm blaming the weather for all of my confused plants! My L. gouldiana is going to be about a month early too. We haven't had any morning sun as the "marine layer " hasn't been burning off till noon. Now we're in fall mode, and the sun is slipping off to the south, so none of my porch plants get more than a few minutes of sun, but the humidity is over and temps are up. Before giving me any kudos for Gerberara 'snow ballet', it has suffered too. After giving me one spike at a time, all summer, it suddenly put out nine spike within a week. Unfortunately, half of them blasted! Thumbs down I'll try again to get pictures tomorrow, but timing is everything here, and between light, breezes, and coffee, it's tough to get decent pics. Hilarious!

I gave up using a tripod some years ago, I never see much difference if I use it or not. I just hold my breath while clicking. Trying not to turn blue.....

You know, ever since I moved the 'chids outside, I haven't seen a Mealie on any of them. Scale... oh yeh. I have Mealies on other plants in the garden though...especially the citrus trees.

Ah, ha! So that's why my photos are out of focus half the time? In future I'll take pictures before starting my double shot latte.

I have a new spike opening on B. nodosa 'Big Jim' and a third one on the way. Also a surprise, a second small bloom on B. Yellow Bird on the spike that dropped its flowers a month ago. First time I've had a spike branch and bloom!
