Thanks Rose! those are two plants, I think they are 4 feet apart. both are six feet wide and seven feet tall. It is a sight to see, I was hoping to attract hummingbirds. Green Grin!

Julia, are you having plenty of rain? Mine bloom good when there is plenty of rain. I hardly ever fertilize because I forget. Whistling

Not that much rain, so dry this year. I will water more. Thanks of the tip. I put mine in large nursery pots because I thought the soil would warm faster.

Or, you could probably set your nursery pot right in a tray and let it soak up however much water it wants -at least until it's done blooming. A bunch of our hibs grow with their feet in our lake (they're actually submerged when the water level's high Blinking )...they really seem to like the constant water supply.

I agree Mine are drought tolerant, so they are fine with the hot dry summers but they will not bloom unless there is plenty of water.

I spray mine with Bayer 3 in 1 and have no trouble. I don't spray the blooms though. I spray before the buds open.

I have not seen any JB in my neighborhood for the past several years, might be because of Milky Spore but I did not put it down. I saw plenty at work, too bad I didn't notice before that one got in the car. Whistling

Plant some Roses and Crape Myrtles. The Japanese Beetles will stay on them. Better yet...buy your most hateful neighbor a rose or two and give to them. Rolling on the floor laughing

They are much more attracted to the Hibiscus, mostly leaving my rose alone.
