Oh yes, lets everyone chime in. Who wants a new thread called OT"Under the Grape Vine" ? I vote yes. I am thinking it would be good. Lets hear from everyone.

Yes, you! You are the one doing most of the posting anyway, so I think you are the perfect person for it! This one got started to get the chatter off of another thread anyway, so it wasn't really a big deal.

Okay by me. I've been thinking there might be somewhere on this property to put up an arbor and plant a grape vine, so that title would be appropriate for me.

Since we are on the vines forum, someone will know better than I do, but grapes are a lot of work. Lots of prunning that I could never get right each spring and spray with fungicide for grapes so that you actually get grapes to eat instead of them just rotting. But grapes sure do taste good!

Have always been hesitant to plant any fruiting vine, shrub or tree because of the mess. Might choose to plant columnar apple trees instead. Two of them, each growing 8'x2', would easily fit in the sidewalk strip and still leave room for dropping branches and recycling for city pickup.

Really? There are columnar apples? That sounds very interesting to me. Do you have enough chill for apples?

Don't know. Be an experiment, I guess.

You could title the new thread "Viney Chat - Under the Grape Vine" and then everyone could think we were either whining or discussing wine, depending on how you misread the title.
