Oh yes, lots of pics. It is all not as bad as it sounds. I have very good soil on all my flower beds. Loose and easy to dig in.

Ah. We have rocks. And clay. And did I mention industrial strength quantities of yellowjackets? Working outside is a real challenge this year.....unless you like working in the dark. Heh, and I just got a nice little "trip" to Emergency from trying to trip (quite literally) around in the dark. Sigh.

Got the 2nd and 3rd gates put in tonight. One more to go, and we can put up some more fence! Realized yesterday that we have to run the fence right along the back of the deck because the slats are wide enough for Bailey to jump through, and she loves doing that. She'll drop a ball on the deck, toward the back, and then look at us like "Oops! My ball just rolled off the deck! I better jump off the deck and rescue it!" The problem with that is that the property drops off right there, and it's really steep, and the ball goes way down the hill. After tomorrow, no more jumping off the deck, and, we should have 3 sides of the fence done!

Humm, my neighbor has the fence company here this morning and they are replacing the split rail fence that runs along his property line. It has totally disintegrated and only some rotted posts are left. He has been telling me they will replace that fence for near ten years so pardon me if I was very surprised to see it actually being done.

Ok, I got a question. Rita is superwoman and doesn't need any stinkin' bulb augers but has anyone else tried them? My decrepit hands are not going to be happy about trying to dig down through the clay and rocks to plant those bulbs DH just bought.

Don't know that the augers could deal with hitting any rocks. I really am fortunate to have good soil.

woofie, isn't there a "tool" forum here? Or something similar? Maybe the bulb forum? Seems like you could get some great help posting that question on another thread. After all, this thread is in the vines forum!
