Spotted a pretty orange Dragonfly this morning:

Nice shot Lin! I have been seeing them around my garden too.

My camera has a problem, it won't charge, looks like the charge cable isn't making a good connection inside the camera, really ticked off at that. Luckily I have my old backup, only thing is it is only 10 X zoom, the other one is 35 X.

Thought we were just about out of luck here in the garden for any further butterfly activity as all of the nectaring plants are about gone. I did get this little surprise right after lunch today in the back garden. She posed like the beauty she is.

Great shots Dave. I love that Painted Lady, especially the 3rd photo; pretty bloom too and what a neat looking dragonfly!

At last!!! Haven't seen one since I have lived here. What a welcome sight! Hard to believe a 63 year old outdoor guy can get excited by such a thing. Just the perfect way to begin as I start to pack for a week fly fishing on Idaho's Henry's Fork.

Dave: Congrat's on the Monarch visit! Have a wonderful time fly fishing in Idaho! I've never been to that state but I hear it has some really beautiful areas!

Forgot to say: Don't forget to take your camera along for any possibly plant/bird/butterfly photo opportunities!

Thanks Lin. Yes Idaho is beautiful. Lots of wildlife such as Moose, Elk, both Bald and Golden Eagles and the occasional Grizzly along the river. I will be right on the edge of Yellowstone and in fact will fish the Yellowstone River at least 1 day while I am out there. I will of coursel have a camera with me but I really do focus very hard on the fly fishing and trout so I won't spend much time doing anything else. The camera I take on these fishing trips is just a little waterproof and shock proof as I am sure I will take one than one unintended bath in the river. I would never trust myself with the Canon on the water.

Beautiful shots Dave!! Have a great fishing trip, hope you catch a few big ones. What species of trout will you be fishing for??? I love fly fishing, have only been out once this summer, we had a busy summer with relatives visiting, and then we decided to do some inside painting.
