Whenever you go to a Dunkin Donut store and buy anything ask for the receipt. Follow the instructions to get your free donut. On your next visit oreder a large coffee and ask for whatever donut you want. When it’s time to pay just hand them the money for the coffee and the old receipt and you will get a free donut.

Deb and I go to our local store probably 6 times a week so we get six donuts a week and sometimes more because we either go twice in one day and also because they know us so well they often give us two donuts instead of just one and they even give us back more than one receipt so that gets us extra donuts.

I have extra large zip lock bags that must hold 6 donuts each and there are at least 6 bags at all times in both freezers. Hilarious! Hilarious!

My favorite is any donut that is glazed. Hilarious!

We don't go like we used to, mostly when we're traveling. But my favorite is the plain fried cake or the peanut ones. They had stopped making the peanut ones but they have them again. Yummy! And they have good coffee too!

Frank ~ I just got this in an email tonight and thought of you. Isn't this a cool cinderblock garden?

some of the things on that site are interesting.

with my raised bed i plan on filling it with a 50/50 combination of top soil and compost. I also hope to be able to plant things like basil and parsley and even some flowers in he holes of the cinder blocks.

I finally worked up enough nerve to use my pressure canner this winter. I made a large batch of chili, had some for dinner and canned the rest. Did the same with Navy Bean Soup. Now I can have home made food whenever I want and not have to eat leftovers for a week. Am going to make a batch of spaghetti sauce and do the same. Frees me from store bought and I KNOW what goes into those jars.

Lots of the recipes for good canning food unfortunately has milk in them (Shrimp Bisque) and my books say not to use anything with a milk product. Not sure why. I guess if the milk escapes it could plug the pressure valve but seems unlikely. Maybe the milk portion curdles?

I still have a bag of cut green beans that I blanched and froze last fall. They look great. D suggested adding them to a stir fry. Am planning succession planting this year now that I have a couple of years of vegies under my belt. Was amazed how long the lettuce lasted. You would think it would be the first to go in a frost but it was still growing, albiet slowly last Oct 1st. I also noted empty spots last year to put stuff like even a few broccoli or cauliflower heads, or cabbage. Two kinds of peas to climb between the taller fence plants. Anywhere I can cram them where they can get light.

Green tomato Jam! Marinating and soon to be canned. Had to snatch them off the bush before a predicted freeze here, and the bushes never froze!

Anyways, I made tons of green tomato sauce and had Pizza's and Pasta with some first. It tasted no different on the whole then red sauce to me once cooked down, and this Jam tastes somehow like Mincemeat pie if you can imagine it? Delicious and surprising indeed! Smiling

They cook up just like the reds. Sautee your onions and garlic in evoo (Rachel Raye coined this one I think. Ha!)extra virgin or maybe less virginal olive oil is good too....or corn or whatever the heck you have on hand.....add the green tomatoes and stew them down just like the red ones with your favorite fresh or dried herbs and seasonings.

It works fabulously and tastes incredible. Just close your eyes and envision its red sauce while you're savoring! Smiling
