Merlot problem/issue resolved???????

I think I can chalk this up to "operator error"! Here are the pictures.

Thumb of 2013-11-01/Misawa77/6b387e Thumb of 2013-11-01/Misawa77/014b92 Thumb of 2013-11-01/Misawa77/2fb46d

What I did was plant two "Merlot" rhizomes behind two "Presby Honors September". Except it appears that I mixed them up. The first and third plant are showing much more growth (with the third trying to bloom) while the second and fourth plants look at about the same growth position (I also have other "Merlot" rhizomes in the next roww{all from the same source} and they all look like the 2nd & 4th plants.

Therefore, I believe that this is really "Presby Honors September (which is a known re-bloomer) trying to show its stuff.

I am looking forward to a couple of weeks of less likely freezes so I think my show will continue on!

Nice to know I'm not the only one that mixes tags! I have a mystery of my own right now. I moved an iris (Goldbeater), tag and all, from one bed, and THOUGHT I put it in with the last batch of historics that I planted....but...now I can't find the darn thing!? I know it's here somewhere! I had a hard freeze last night. Temps went down to 27/26 degrees. I did not have any time to cover stuff, so I cut the two stalks that held promise and brought them inside.

Earl of Essex

and

the "Merlot" mystery.

Here are the pictures. First up, some Earl.

Now "Merlot" (ok, this is indeed "Presby Honors September")

And then a couple together shots

Yeah -- my single stalk of Feedback isn't going to finish blooming, I'm afraid. The two nights last week that were 28/29 degrees were likely too much for it. However, there's a good chance that the Amain stalk will go ahead and bloom. I can hope, anyway................. nodding

Your blooms are beautiful Greg. I especially like Earl of Essex. Lovey dubby

As long as that is just a night-time low, and it doesn't stay there , 28 degrees may slow them some, but it won't stop them....Arlyn

I lurk a lot here and don't post much but I just had to share these.
The yellow ones are Harvest of Memories TB in the church garden.
The other is Double Your Fun IB in our home garden. Ann

I have two different rhizomes of "Haunting" trying to join the fray.

Hi Ann -- Welcome! Your blooms are beautiful -- thanks for sharing!

Very cool Greg -- is Haunting supposed to be a re-bloomer?
