I don't think I have ever seen one of Brian's growing in the gardens around here. Hmmmm I will have to look for them. Perhaps Jamie Gossard has some at his place.

I was fortunate to get a few Maheiu unregistered seedlings in 2008. Not quite up to registration, but it was great chance for some good genetics.
Here are two that bloomed last year:

Anyone see that Dottie Warrell has some new intros on her web page? Her page is on the DaylilyTrader site. I didn't know it till someone told me today.

Last summer, I spent a few hours at Dottie's, and photographed a lot of her daylilies and seedlings.

Here is my photo of Break Dance. I thought it was one of the most unique daylilies I have ever seen. I don't think the photo on her site does it justice. It was absolutely stunning in a clump.

I emailed Dottie recently and she told me that she is retiring (79 years old) and I honestly can see why. I can't imagine taking care of a garden at that age. But, she still offered to sell me two of her older ones that I have wanted, Starsearch and Pink Cricket. I asked her if someone else was carrying her flowers and she referred me to Dailey Daylilies. They carry a lot of hers. I didn't see the new ones posted on her Warrell website. I will have to check again. Thanks for posting those!!!

That looks really great Robin. I am glad that I ordered it. I see that Dottie has used it a lot in her hybridizing program.

Teresa, I remember clearly the first time I ever saw Marked By Lydia. I have never had the chance to grow it, but have always admired it.

Other than the strange new forms that Curt Hanson is working with, I dearly love Spiders and UFs. Maybe because Dottie Warrell was the first person I knew who hybridized? Naaa... I think it is because of their grace. I'll take a spider fluttering in the breeze any day to a big, heavy petaled thing with "chicken fat"...

It is a good thing there are so many forms - everyone likes something different.

I agree Jules. Nothing like seeing a spider daylily blowing in the breeze.
