I get mine from Violet Barn and on eBay from HooverHybrids.....you must be careful on eBay that you get what you buy if you do not know the seller. Best to check out the seller first as you already know I am sure.

My friend from Foxboro brought me this orchid yesterday.....this is a tough week for me, & she remembered.......The label said to water it by giving it 3 ice cubes a week!

yup...ice cubes. For awhile now these have been the instructions on many mass marketed orchids. I questioned it as well at 1st, but the method often seems to work for my friends born w/o a green thumb!

Kool! I seldom complain about other vendors because I know how it can be when you are selling and shipping plants. But today I got plants from two different vendors and maybe I am just cranky today but I am annoyed. Both of these are to be reputable vendors.

The one sent me a streptocarpus plant. Beautiful plant butthe leaves have been cut big time (and he warns you he will do this to help it ship better and cheaper. ) it was packed in PINK INSULATION. I do not want to be breathing insulation and it looks just like the sheets of insulation you put in your homes. I also think he cut too much off the plant but I wanted the plant and it will grow back. I am sure he will make more babies with what he cut off. For the price, I could have used them also. Other vendors bigger and better than him give you the entire plant.

Next, I have been trying desperately to get specific cultivar of spider plants that are truly the accurate cultivars they say they are. I bought one that was a hanging basket called Shamrock Spider. When it arrived there was a tag on it that said it was a spider plant grown in Canada.
Obviously he named it himself. Just ducky....no cultivar with that name I feel sure. The other one was accurately marked and hopefully I got what I paid for. I need to research that now and be sure.

It is so important to mark the plants properly when selling. When you have a noid, be honest and tell them you made up the name. Just makes me crazy. Thank you for allowing me to vent. Just wish I was not so fussy.

Disappointing not to get what you paid for....hopefully, the strep will work out....maybe you can ship the spider back?

Hello everybody I'm new to the site and not sure if I'm doing this right but wanted to let everybody know that their plants are all beautiful. I would like to start an indoor gardening project with houseplants. What forum would I need to be on to see if I could get some seeds or cuttings to start my project? I have just 1 snake plant 2 african violets a begonia and some catus. Thanks for any help.
