Welcome! Welcome! It is so nice that you are here with us. I am sure you are going to find everyone very helpful and happy to see you. For my own benefit, may I ask what State/Country do you live in. For me, it makes a difference what I can offer to send you. I have a certified NJ Nursery and my shipping is really regulated much more than others. I deal mostly in houseplants but I still must have the same inspections and regulations as landscape nurseries have if they ship all over the USA.

I know you will find what you are looking for here. It sounds like you already have a good start with your project. Have a good day and I am looking forward to talking to you again.

Where / how do you guys situate your house plants? Currently mine are outside, but once it gets cold, they will be brought back inside. They never really do well because they are tucked away in various places and I tend to forget about them. I need a better way to keep them so that I they get the attention they deserve

Terri, none of my plants even made it outside this year......guess I was too distracted with my brother, mother, & new puppy.....I'm afraid once mine are outside I tend to forget them, so maybe it was a good thing this year!

Well, many of mine take up most of the dining table near a bright south window. There is barely space for dh to eat but he doesn't seem to mind. He focuses on the food and not the plants, I guess. Hilarious! A few are in the living room near the big picture window. It faces north and I keep saying I'm going to have a bay window with shelves put in to replace it (room for more plants). So far, I haven't ... but it could happen.
I garden for the pollinators.

I line mine up on plant stands against the southern dining room windows and the western kitchen windows. Some of them go near the northern basement window where they barely get watered.

I found where the local grocery store / greenhouse keeps their "sad plants." My husband should be happy that I didn't come home with another Jade (looked like he was getting pretty tall and spindly) and Snake plant (looked like they had taken cuttings from the top). I might still go back and get them. I also picked up a small, baby Snake Plant

Bet a lot of us, I know I do, have plant rescue stories, and, experiences that might be helpful to those of us who often rescue. Shrug! . All I need are signs of life to attempt a rescue.

My husband gets all sentimental over silly little things. Like, we have this pencil topper toy thing that he found on the playground while in elementary school & refuses to give it up. I'm over here like, "aww, look at this poor, sad plant. Let me bring it home and make it better"

I have some information, just in case any of you have the African Gardenia (Mitriostigma axillare). It is a very lovely fragrant houseplant, not a real gardenia and so easy to care for. Logee's has been selling it for years but not too many people I know have owned it and I am not sure why. My experience with it has been great and it blooms almost all year. My problem is I left the main center leader grow to tall and now I have a spindly looking plant that I want to trim. But, thank goodness I ask before I cut, because I found that cutting off too much of that particular leader will eventually kill the plant.
Whew! Am I glad I ask for instructions before I did what I was going to do. I was going to cut it back about two feet. It seems that I can only cut no more than 1/3 of the leader or it will be the end of the plant for sure. I also found I can put the cutting in water and see if it will root for me. That will be exciting. Here is what it looks like now, and you can see my problem. Lesson learned....do not wait a few years to see how tall your plant will get because you are then stuck with a tall plant, except for 1/3 of it. Shrug!

Yes, it has a very soft sweet aroma that is very pleasant. Blooms all year. Google it and you will see lots of good info.

Such a good feeling when you bring them back to life!! I'm thinking that soon the weather will be cold and I'll need to bring in more house plants than I have room for. They'll be lined up in every available window. Some of them will go into the garage and basement. Oh my aching back!!

I have a friend who is constantly doctoring plants and bringing them back again. I am not that patient and although I try to keep them alive, when it comes to putting them into the constant care unit....I quit and give them to her. Then of course she keeps them and I am happy about that ....more room for me to play.

I found some mealy bug in the houseplants today. I hope that is not a sign of more to come. Mealy bug is to me the biggest threat since the State Inspector comes into the greenhouse and my house to inspect the plants I sell. The State requires inspection to keep my nursery license, so he just shows up and it keeps me on my toes. My biggest worry is that I will not see them before they get to the plant and I would just die if I sold a plant that had mealy bug on it. That is my biggest fear. I spray the soil as well as the plants and pot. You just can not be sure where they are. Just when you think you have them conquered...up they pop again. More neems oil and dawn mix needed. Thumbs up
