That's because they don't know. Don't you wish for just once that they would admit it!
Hello, we have no clue.....
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29
Most of the weather people on the channel I watch regularly do occasionally say, "We have no clue." More often, they have to say, "We HAD no clue." when the forecast is way off reality, but it evens out.
Part of why I like watching this station. Even though the network is supposed to rank fourth behind "The Big 3" and has a reputation for less than stellar journalism, I appreciate the honesty and quirks of most of the weather folk, anchors, and reporters at this local level.
Very often, in Utah, they said they were hoping for the best, but couldn't make any promises! That really made me laugh! It also made me appreciate the fact that they were honest.
We got probably close to 2 inches of snow over night and it looks really cold out. We have had a hawk trying to get the birds by my bird feeders this morning. I was sitting here at my computer watching the birds on the feeders and one swooped down and all the birds scattered.

Do you have shelter near your feeder so they can get to protection quickly?

Here, the weather folks pretty much say the same thing every day & no one expects their prophecies to be accurate. Mostly the local weather folk are hot young women who look good in those tight-waisted dresses...
I finally got a weather forecast on the late news last night. It said 1-9 inches of snow possible. In other words no one had any idea how much, just that there would be snow!
So at noon today the forecast was more about the snow. 6-12 inches expected. Yikes! After that on Friday it was supposed to be extra cold. Apparently really cold front coming down from mid central western Canada.
Oh no, Margaret is sending down her cold air! Thanks Margaret!
