I will have to say, no matter if I got an awesome bonus plant, or extra fans of what I bought, or gift plants that I couldnt use, I was always appreciative of the sellers generosity. I dont know of any other seller of other items that routinely does that. And even if there is nothing extra there, but just a box of beautiful plants, well, thats what I bought, and Im thrilled to get that.

So its all good!

I am always very thrilled with any extras from purchases whether it be plants or seeds. And sharing or donating any you don't want is a great idea!

As long as I get what I paid for I am ok with that. I too have gotten , (IMHO) keeper gift plants. I have passed on some to friends. Traded with a good friend that has a nursery, where she's trying to increase her selection. The general public is only concern with a nice looking flower what Susan call "JUNK"! Most have never seen any of these newer faces. They wouldn't pay the going rate anyway.

Mike - The seller provided that, too! She had the seedling photos either on her website or on the auction and I just added it to my records. Loved it! She'll get my business again!

I do realize that one man's junk is another man's treasurer. I am fine with just getting good plants and that is the reason I go back for repeat business.
In the city, a plant with, 'a nice flower' is not worth ground space. All my plants have to be good bloomers. By the way, I am the general public. LOL!

I think the more yrs that I have grown daylilies (about 10) I have moved from planting everyone I could get my hands on. I have become more selective about yes, wanting a pretty face but one that will rebloom and do well enough that it is worth my time to weed and feed it.

I like to gift plants to young folks just starting out. I remember those days with young children and no extra cash for a garden. I had a nice neighbor that was generous and I want to do that for others too.

Susan, you are the GP for sure, but when it comes to daylilies (like the rest of us here) you have Champagne taste.

Thanks Mike! This was a bonus, probably from Blueridge and I was going chuck it till I saw it was not in the data base. So I did plant this an grow it till it bloomed and it took me a whole month to get a picture once it bloomed because some slug laid eggs in the thing and it kept get in eaten.

I am much more selective because there is work involved with taking care of these not to mention dividing all this. I think I have around 300 already. Hoping to do a few trades next year and also have a box I will give away for postage.
Speaking of young people, the day I received those 12 triple fans was the same day my neighbor graduated from college. So I gave her the daylilies as a graduation gift along with a yard ornament and she was trilled!

Mike - I just love Cajun Sunshine!!! I don't know what it is about those blooms, but I do a double-take every time I see them. Thank you for sharing some of your seeds from them as the pod parent. Unknown pollen parent ... makes it even more of a mystery! Can't wait to see blooms down the road!
