Do elderberries count as a soft fruit? I think so and I can make a banner using that.

I just submitted a banner of red raspberries.

And I saw another elderberries banner already in there so we have a good start.

I think it is pretty soft, only has one little seed.

Are pears considered soft fruits?

I don't think any fruit growing on trees is in the soft fruit category. I think soft fruit has to come from low-growing plants, bushes, and vines.

Rhubarb's on some lists of soft fruit, although I always think of it as a vegetable. Do you have any rhubarb banners?

Yes, we don't have any yet.

I have a blueberry, raspberry, elderberry and grapes so far.

Margaret, depending on what we get submitted (soft fruits doesn't run until June), I may ask for that memorable raspberry banner again!

Some lists also include figs and pomegranates, although that breaks the tree rule.

Yep I think that would qualify! My pineapple guava is a large bush.

If you don't need until June, I have rhubarb I could take a photo of but it's dormant right now. All I have is a photo of the raised bed from last year, no stalks showing so, even though for me it was exciting, it would be rather dull to most people!

I couldn't find the photo of strawberries I was looking for but i'll keep looking.

I had a raspberry banner that ran in August.........

I have rhubarb photos that I need to find, will check later and see if they are good enough quality for a banner, I have high standards.
