I'll leave the final decision up to Trish. But backing up bulbs week a month earlier would make sense.

Dave,

Ok, thanks! I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

I know when I started trying to order bulbs for this Fall in Oct., there was a lot of bulbs at the different companies I was looking at that were out of stock of the bulbs I wanted. So, that's why when I was looking at the list for the monthly raffles, it came to mind to mention it.

That's a good point, Marilyn.

I've switched the hardy Succulents and Cacti (was Sept) with the Spring bulbs.

I tip my hat to you.

Sue- let's flip flop Sept to be spring bulbs first, then salvias.

Also, if you don't mind, I'll replace my schedule with yours which has dates in my first post.

Noticed that part of Oct is slated for Hardy Cacti and Succulents. Could I mention that there are Hardy Cacti and Succulents but there's also the Tender Succulents which aren't hardy. Also all cacti are succulents but not all succulents are cacti.
So my point is: Maybe a more general term(s) could be used to describe that plant week without leaving any plant group out???
Not sure whether just the general term Succulents would be sufficient. May or may not need an adjective in front of it? Shrug! What do other fans of succulents think? Confused

This year the focus is on only hardy cacti and succulents.

No matter what we do, we will be leaving some (many) plant groups without a week dedicated to it.
1) that's why we rotate some of the groups year after year
2) Even if a plant doesn't have an official week, there is an entire half of the year that still needs to be filled with wonderful and informative articles. Everyone should feel free to write to their heart's content about the plants and topics they are passionate about! Thumbs up

I didn't see the updated list until now. *Blush* I've been emailing a lot of companies for raffle prizes with the list (with weeks and dates) that Sue did. *Blush*

(edited to state I was referring to the original list.)

So, I guess if companies email me and want to offer prizes for the cacti & succulents, then Dave will have to straighten them out about the days when he gets in touch with them. Thumbs up

I see we will be starting off in early January with Cold Weather Crops, good place to start. I think most of us that grow veggies grow some of the common spring planted cold weather ones.

I was working on my ideas for articles today but got side tracked for the article I promised I would do for one of the plant weeks because I was working on ideas for different weeks instead! Rolling on the floor laughing

Trish, in an August week you have listed "Tropicals trees/shrubs. Did you mean "Tropical trees/shrubs" or Tropicals/trees/shrubs"?
