I love to start them from seeds and watch them grow into beautiful plants. I tried ordering seeds from Thailand but never receive them. Which Thai seller would be best to get seeds from?

I got the DRs from Brian and put them in the soil this weekend. They are lovely and Brian even gave me a white one, too. Thank you Brian.

Right now, absolutely no seller on Ebay. Give me a few days, and I'll come up with a few American seed sellers.

There is one man calling himself Adenium_Ko, or Mr. Ko who is on vacation supposedly, who used to sell high quality seeds on Ebay. Was supposed to be back in June, but the month has just begun.

Here's one-- $22 for 100 seeds. Whew! Don't buy the seedlings, a sad story, that.

JT, what are you doing for seeds? (your arabicum is about to bloom, can't wait!!)

Melissa I ordered my supply of seed from Ko last fall and stored them in the frige.I have most of them planted now and germination was still good. Now I am forced back to Ebay for some Arabicum seed which I was short on.I will let everyone know how that turns out. They should be ain any day now.
FWIW...we have some germination rates for seed from several sellers on one of our "Pages".That can tell you who to avoid until Ko comes back online.

This spring I purchased Thai DR seed from King Adenium on eBay. I purchased both A. obesum and A. arabicum seed. I have had nearly 100% germination from all the varieties I bought. Even though this is my first batch of seedlings, I can tell the difference between the obesum and arabicum by the leaf shape. Although I obviously don't know the quality of the blooms, at this point I would not hesitate ordering again as the seed was very healthy and packaged and protected very well. - Arlan

Haha, I said, "pink pink, pink and pink" when I looked at your photos. You do have a couple of great knotted caudexes.

Pink is lovely! Most of mine are pink, I'm going for the caudexes, caudexii, lately.

I have a double that the bud is about to pop, for days now. Sure wish it'd go ahead and open. Tho' sometimes they drop off! Akkk! I think I shouldn't water them when they get 'buddie'.

I really ought to grow ferns, the way that I love to water plants!

I have a nice white from JT. It turns pink as it's exposed to direct sunshine, as if it gets sunburned. It looks a bit like the white along the top of this page.

Hey, c'mon, everybody post photos, even old ones! Aha, found a picture of my whitie/pinkie! The pink is really 'electric' pink.

I made a mistake with mine recently.I use one of our local Saturday markets to sell mine and that depends on blooms, blooms and more blooms.I fertilized everything with a high nitrogen fertilizer and now have beautiful foilage but no blooms. It's like someone turned off the bloom faucet.Note to self...don't use whatever fertilizer that happens to be on hand.Take the time to go and get the right stuff.

hoainiem asks>>>wonder if JT has anything else?
yes,I do.I have finally put the first adenium page on the website.I will be adding more as specimen plants and some as grafted plants, but most of those may have to wait for next spring. In the meantime,if you don't see what you want just ask.

JT, I just clicked your 'Country Garden' and looked around your website, very nice! Oh, how I wish I wasn't allergic to Brugmansias! They grow and bloom so well for me, but give me hives, wowee.

And yes, nice cornfields there, too much nitrogen will do that! teehee.

Huh? we ran out of room on the thread, or something? We need to get in touch with Dave and get rid of the "Sticky's!!!! A "Sticky" is supposed to be one little bit that stays at the top, with info. The discussions, chat, is supposed to change automatically with a bigger number.

"Sticky", rules for this cubit(or something that needs to be at the top)
#40 chat
#39 chat
#38 chat

That's how it works back on Dave's Garden(used to be) When #41 comes into being, it automatically pops up under "Sticky", and above #40.

I GOT A YELLOW!!!!! From a Ko seed, "New Yellow", the parent. The bud was pink, like the bud in the background. It's a little yellower than the photo.

Melissa,Dave doesn't control the stickies,I do.I keep the chat "on sticky" so the latest chat thread will be easy to find.If you want to see true chaos just leave off the sticky and my email box will be fuill of "where is the chat thread?"emails.Been there, done that on the Brug cubit. In order to preserve what little sanity I have left, the stickies stay.Thumb of 2011-06-23/gone2seed/783367

Oh, OK, JT. I didn't know about that. Sanity is nice to have sometimes. But now we have page seven, hmmmm.

The yellow turned rather pink in the sun. Like the white that got a 'sun pink' instead of a 'sun tan'? haha. Many people spent fortunes on yellow seeds when they were first on the market, like $50 for five seeds, and they just got pink. Doesn't pay to rush.

Great news, Mr. Ko will be selling seeds on Ebay again, bginning next week, the 27th. I'll post a link then.

The blue masking tape on one of the flowers is where I put the flower back together after splitting it to apply pollen from another plant.

How do you make a bloom go ahead and open? These two, on the left, have been sitting there like that all day!
.
These aren't nearly this yellow, by the way!

Wanted you all to know Doris has had a heart attack but we are all praying for her recovery. Seems all the stress with the weather, first the snow crashing in her bedroom, then the tornado, just wore her out.
Says she is going to have to cut back on her gardening. But in meantime we can all wish her a healthy recovery...and say some prayers for the dear lady. she has had a tough year...
