What a deliriously delicious hibiscus! It's wonderful and SO huge!

Susie - spectacular blooms and colors! I love the vertical accents, too!

4susiesjoy said:The delphinium and lupines bloomed for a long time, I suppose since it was so cool. I cut them off after they were done and they had a second bloom in the fall which is never as tall as the first bloom.

Susie, do you have an image set with these? I can't grow lupines because of the heat but I forgot about the delphiniums maybe those would work? I love the pink flowers on the bottom right. Is that a grape vine? Wonderful garden pictures!

I haven't done an image set with these as most of them are things that I started from collected seeds so are not true to a named variety. The large pink flower is a NOID peony and the small one is a Pretty Bonnets columbine, and yes that is grape vines in the background. They were very productive this year. If you click on the picture where you can see a grape hanging down you can get an idea of how Productive! Plant ID: 79557

Just beautiful Susan. Is the hibiscus one plant? Delphiniums are beautiful. I will be adding some more next spring from Gracefulgardens. I will be getting a tray of eight different variety. They have the cheapest that I have seen. Everyone else want about ten bucks a plant. Love the bird house and the lupines.

Joseph's Coat... a friend of mine bought a tray of these and gave some to at least three other gardeners. None of us were successful in getting this to grow past six inches and live. I protected this one because the rabbits had a field day with one of the six I planted.

Mike, beautiful pictures! That Cleome looks gigantic! Have you ever tried starting Delphinium from seed. You can get seed for many of the really pretty kinds and it's a lot cheaper than buying them.

Susan, that is a beautiful penstemon, I got Blondie last fall and I hope it looks as good in my garden as it does in yours!

Blondie, is one of the seven little cuties from Terra Nova. It's a favorite of mine, very unusual in the sea of all the new hybrids on the market.

Mike you should try from seed, you could probably winter sow them. You could try different ways. I have done it before but the slugs like them so well.

Blondie goes on my list as well!

We've had the Ghost fern for years. Major roots on that one but it really is a great plant.

Roots from just one plant are at my foot in the photo at the right. You know it was big when I still remember digging it and lifting it!

Well, looks like Delphinium's won't work here either. It's ok I am getting a bunch of Dahlias so I need to get busy digging up shrubbery! LOL.

@Hazelcrestmikeb those are beautiful plants! The Lord Baltimore is just two plants I got off eBay, of all places. They are sterile so all their energy goes into blooming and they do a ton of it!

Julia, hope you are feeling better today. OTL is a tobacco plant.
I have never grown Delphs from seed. I get 32 plants from GG for around $90. I am not against trying. Kinda overwhelmed with all the daylily seed I plan to plant late February. I might try some unusual seeds of Delphs. Most are short live. Some of the newer hybrids are hardier. You gotta feed them.
Arlene, I have tried Crocosmia Fire King on a couple occasion without success. I just love the deep red in it.
Julia the Ghost Fern and the Penstemon are beautiful.
Lord Baltimore

LB another angle. Reblooms late September into October around here. I was able to get two seeds for the first time and planted next to the mother plant to see what happen. I am going to take some cuttings nest summer to move this beauty around the yard.
