My cybister cross 'Bogota' in bloom. There are 4 bulbs in the clump but only two of them bloomed this year. Will have to give them a bit more TLC in hopes they will come back and multiply.
This must be the time of year for Bogota.Mine is also in bloom along with a couple of crosses. Finally some blooms.I WILL do better with my bulbs this fall.
BOGOTA
RIO NEGRO x BOGOTA
PAPILIO X EQUESTRE
As you can see,the two crosses ,though from one different parent, are nearly identical.
No sense of pride here--shame and embarrassment really--but I think it is hilariously bad enough to share!
These things have been living in this spot in this pot for about 6 years, came as a BBS clearance item on a gel pad in a container that I wanted. I threw them in this pot instead of throwing them away and I ignore them. They bloom on the ceiling every spring when all the glory (and work) is outside and so am I. And no, I don't even turn them to see their faces or clean up the spiderwebs, I just laugh at myself and head back outside
My outdoor beds are starting to look nice. I have a cybister in bloom this year. Its been moved twice so perhaps it is now found its "happy place". This is the first time I've ever had one rebloom.
There are two groups that deserve special mention. The top photo: The Opal Star (also sold as Ruby Star and Cherry Crush) has 4 scapes (6-7 blooms/ scape) on a bulb the size of a grapefruit. The bulb has actually grown halfway out of the ground. I don't know why its so happy but I am enjoying it. This clump of Voodoo has continued to spread in this western exposure. All these bulbs came from a small clump that I rescued from the vacant home next door. I'm not seeing a lot of slugs which surprises me since we had a wet & warm winter.

Oh yes, it is on my "should list", with about 50 million other things. I don't think it is Red Lion though. About the time it makes it to the "crisis list" I will likely do something about it...

Dirt, I do like your blooms! Such persistence to live! I wonder how big the bulbs are right now after 6 years!
The original is about the size of a grapefruit, then two good sized apples and some smaller babies.
What a game changer it would be to grow them outside!
Ya-alls' are gorgeous
