Cora, I had Snowbank for several years before it suddenly died this winter. Because of all the white on the leaves, Snowbank is one Brug that can't take any sun at all. You'll notice that on the older leaves on your plants almost of the the white sections have browned up. That is sun scorch. Mine couldn't even take early morning sun. The flowers are apricot in color.

Oh so it's a name for a brug then? Not a separate kind of plant. Thanks! Was confused there for a moment! Hilarious! Had never heard of one by that name.

Thanks Veronica, i have just spotted those at the nursery yesterday and of course i snatch all of them Hilarious! I have never grown this one though and i know the older leaves is brown. They have them in full sun. This will be all day under a tree, filter sun only no direct exposure and will see what happen. Thank you for telling what color on the bloom as i said never had it.

What you need to do, is leave them in the pot for a few days, and sit them in different areas of your yard, till they find thier happy place. Once they sit in one place for 4 - 5 days, and they show no stress, then I would plant them there. But everything I have read about the variegated leaves is, they are slow growers, and they are pretty finnicky, and don't like a lot of sun, like the other brugs do.
Keep us posted, as how they grow for you.

Linda is that for all varigated brugs? I have Peaches and Cream where she gets morning sun but afternoon shade. She seems okay there. Like you said growing slowly but at least not loosing leaves.

Most variegated brugs will be finicky. If yours is happy there, leave her alone, but if they are in pots I would try moving them around and see where she is happiest. Then dig a hole and plant her.

Got a new Orange Brug form George. I love orange. I planted it in the sun. Let me tell you that plant doesn't like the sun, it wilted!! Well Hubby dug a new hole in a shadey area and I transplanted it yesterday afternoon. It looks so much better. They can be very picky, this one has green leaves on it too. Here is my new Brug haven. Have 11 plants and one moved since I took pic. Was foggy yesterday AM but this will give you general idea.

Molly, it should be ok there. I havent had any problems with it yet. But I've always kept it in a pot and I can give it shade from the hottest evening shade and lots of the cooler early amorning and late afternoon sun. Now my red one is another story, some say it can't have the hot sun so I may have to bring it inside for the hottest part of the summer and put it back out later as it cools some. I hear it doesn't like the heat as well as the regular Brugmansias do. It is really a datura but the seed company called it a red angel trumpet when I bought it. I'll try to get you one of those rooted also if I can, I don't have any more seeds of it.

Jan, there is a red brugmansia, but it is not a true brug, but in that family. There are no red datura/devil trumpets. Devil trumpets have to be started with seeds. I have not yet heard of anyone starting a new one from cuttings, like we do with the angel trumpets. Let me know if it works for you.

Link is for the red angel trumpet.

Most of them will wilt in the sun, but they will perk back up at night when it is cooler. They also take a lot of water, if you have them in full sun. Try placing water sorb crystals in the hole before you plant them. That will help also.

Thanks Linda, several told me it was datura but the seed company said it was angel trumpet and it is the one in your link. I did root a broken piece and it looks good. Small but good. Several told me it didn't like the heat here and wouldn't grow in my zone either but it is. So go figure. I must be doing something right. Molly, I'm gonna fix you right up as soon as they are rooted good enough to make the trip and you can keep in pots until you are ready to plant out or just leave in pots. They won't get as big in pots so if you have limited space, you might want to keep in pots.
Charleen, mine have not wilted so far and are doing great. I put them in my long lasagna garden. I scattered several all around and got smaller plants to grow around and under them. Thumbs up
