Looks like Vinca (Periwinkle). Pretty plant but will reseed and sprout everywhere. Some call it a weed but I still love it!

Thanks Linda. Fortunately it is contained in one bed surrounded by concrete so it can't go too far.

I've had those things come up years after I thought they were goners. Wish everything would grow like that!! Vinca minor-a trailing plant that kinda looks like winkles only with a lighter color edge on the leaf grows like that also. Loves the heat, little water, poor soil, and makes a good ground cover.

I do like it and as long as it stays contained, it can stay. I'll probably pot up some of the seedlings and freecycle them.

Back in the 70's I planted a variety of Vinca that still sprouts up today, in beds, in the lawn etc. They even pop up in the cracks of the sidewalk and driveway! I sometimes pull them up and pot them in containers, other times I mow them down or just pull them up and out they go!

LOL, I just noticed Jan's address ... Sauna City! That's what it's felt like here on the central east coast for the past month, upper 80's, low 90's and the awful humidity to match! I walked outside at 7:00 this morning and needed another shower when I came back inside ... sticky and humid, ugh! I have a feeling it's going to be a very loooong, and very hot summer ... just hope we don't get the canes' they are predicting!

Yep, I went from Arctic Wetlands to Sauna City in like a week... I just came in to take a break and pack up some plants for Steve (Skaz421) and I'm drenched already. I have dedicated today to just gardening with no where to go so I can drip all I want. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing :rofl
I took a couple days off work and finally finished putting up the new 18ft x 20 ft canopy for my mini nursery. Now I have to rearrange table and get organized.

He's doing good but misses Florida and doesn't like the long cold winter. Don't blame him there.

Here's his contact page. Drop him a line and say hi,

I decided to use all 57 gal of water from my rain barrel in anticipation of getting more rain, right now it's 98° feels like 110°, sky is blue and big white fluffy clouds, but that can change in a heart beat, I'm looking for some rain.

I worked in the yard from @ 10:00 this morning until 2:30 this afternoon ... miserably hot and humid! I checked the thermostat for outside temp at @ 1:30 and it said 95º!! It felt like 115º! It's still showing 93º but clouds are rolling in so we are probably in for a bit of rain. Seems like here in central Fla we are beginning our normal summer time weather patterns, with hot and humid days and the afternoon storms! I don't mind the rain at all, just don't like the thunder and lightning!

Jan: Your 18'x24' mini ?? nursery, doesn't sound so mini to me Smiling What types of plants are you growing in your nursery? Back in the 70's my husband built me a large 25'x25' greenhouse and I loved it but then began working extremely long hours and didn't have time for playing in the dirt so much. It wasn't heated so I still had to drag all the plants and trees into the house during real cold weather. I had him dismantle the thing sometime in the late 80's, early 90's - now that I have a lot of time I'd love to have a smaller version, although I keep saying I am going to downsize! I lost a lot of plants over the winter and have been pretty good about not buying more! My husband will be retiring in another four or five years and we want to travel some, so I won't have a lot of time for plants.

Goodgreen/Jim: Congrats on the sale of the plants! What type of plants did you sell? Looks like the storms are in your area right now .. I hear thunder and it's getting dark here in South Daytona too ... will be shutting down my computer here shortly!

jimsned2/Jim: I bet y'all will be getting rain down that way this afternoon too if you haven't seen it already! It's that time of year!

What a great idea! Looks like a great bunch of Coleus too! I got a few Coleus in a Co-op a month or so ago. They are doing well and need to be planted into the garden, and pinched back ... just need to take the time to get it done but knowing me they will still be in the same pots in August!

Hi Lyn
I grow some of this, some of that. Mostly what I can propagate from my own plants.
