Temps were around 70 here today, but I didn't get to enjoy it...too busy with dental appt and taxes,
The snow just melted this weekend and already I see daffodils! I wouldn't mind a few more rounds of snow. Much rather have bright white than drab brown grass!
In November, I took delivery of rose orders from both Palatine and Pickering. I planted half, and kept half in the cold garage. I have potted the garage bunch, and all of them look good. The ones in the ground don't look good at all.
I pulled back the mulch and some are brown way down to the bottom. Does this mean i have to cut them all the way back or it there any chance that brown just means very dormant??
I sure hope I can save them.
Toni, how far down can you prune roses and still get blooms in June?
