You might have to get a machete out to get thru your walkway.

So what else is new? This IS a bit early for the machete bushwhacking gig, I admit. Big Grin

Yet another band of rain coming thru now. I'm going PVC shopping this afternoon. Need supports for tomatoes, beans, gourds..................... I bought a long, auger type, drill bit so I can sink the poles into the ground 10" or so. Looking at designs on the web. Sure are some fancy ones out there. I'm going simple for now. Maybe a fancier set up for the Fall crop.

But the rain is very welcome. I can hear the plants slurping it up!!!!!

Funny.

Little late for Easter chicks, David. How 'bout "Rubber Ducky, you're the one" ?

Very jealous, though. I have a friend in town from Utah, looking for houses. She would "die for" a ripe tomato from the garden, and all I've got are dozens at the green-turning-white stage.

I noticed some small yellow tomatoes out there yesterday & forgot to get out to pick them. Maybe I'll find even more this AM.

Thumbs up Jean!

Ardisia came with the place here. I am still a huge fan, and have found it not to be invasive at all.

No one needs tell me how "invasive" this plant can be. I've heard all the stories and the story is just not true for me.

Fabulous, Shade loving, picture perfect and freeze tolerant Ardisia!

Finally - a good steady rain. We got over 2" yesterday afternoon. I could just see all my plants doing a Happy Dance. Now maybe more will start blooming.

I'm sure the weed population tripled overnite so I'll need to get out there & deal with those. Those nasty Chamberbitter are popping up everywhere.

My goodness, Jean! We're less than 20 miles from each other...You got over 2" of rain, and I got less than a tenth of an inch! Blinking Glare I was out there watering this morning! Grumbling

I must be doing something wrong! Hilarious!

Guess we should still count ourselves lucky we got ANY rain in May, right? Except . . . my weeds are thigh-high after being away for 2 weeks! The Spanish Needles just leapt up and are blooming all over everywhere, but at least the cute little flowers make them easy to find.

I have figs coming along on my tree right outside the window. Finally figured out that I need to water it lavishly while the figs are sizing up, and I might actually get to eat a few this year!

Yeah, Rolling my eyes. and as you can see, I've pretty much 'invited' the birds to the tree, since the big birdfeeder is right in the middle of it.

Strangely enough, neither the birds nor the squirrels have shown much interest in the figs in previous years. Maybe the seeds are more attractive? Let's hope!
