Ahhhh yes, the kink in the hose....good thing I live out in the boonies, so no one can hear just what I have to say about that !!!

Even invested in a couple of "NO" kink hoses..........yeah right...

OK there is a good way to prevent kinks in hoses. As sailors we learned to coil lines in a figure 8 so they will not twist and jam.

Do the same with your hose and you will be amazed. BUT if its an older hose that has been coiled in circles (which actually twists it) you need to stretch it out straight then start back at the faucet end to lay it in figure 8s. You will see as you do it that you are twisting it one way then the other which keeps it straight. Make big long 8s and it takes less time to coil, too. Smiling

Those hose reels that you wind up are even worse for creating kinks

I don't even coil mine up. It just lays in what ever pattern it falls in but still kinks when I take it across the yard. I think it is just Murphy's Law....................at a point far from where you are, the hose will kink. And more likely when you are in a hurry!!!!

Those stripes along the side of many hoses were put there I think to try to help us to know how to stretch them out and detangle them to keep them 'kinkless'.

Hilarious! and then some, and I am right there with MJ on that comment about;....You should here what I have to say when my hose kinks thing. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing and then some! Smiling

I am believing there are evil spirit garden hags that aggravate us at the very moment we get those hoses to the area we are wanting to water. (kind of sort kidding but not sure) Hilarious!

I swear its true that that those damn hoses don't kink until I get excactly where I need them. Blinking (that pisses me off)

I then try to say a short prayer for forgiveness for my impatient attitude and realize I have a garden, home and hose to water with.

We need to pray for the kinky hose hag to just go away!

I can turn the air blue with my expletives when the hose kinks ESPECIALLY at the very end of your garden chores & it's 95 degrees & you're sweating like a hog & tired & ready to have it done!

You know. It's just good to know other gardening friends feel the same way as I do on occasion about those dang' kinky hoses though,..........................

I think sometimes,......"I hope no one was walking their dogs over there behind that bush when I just said what I did *Blush* ";............as a voice calls out and says, "I love your gardens!!!" *Blush* Blinking

If this rain keeps up, we aren't going to need the hoses.....I afraid I'll get eaten by either the Blue or White sky vines. Yikes !

At least those gorgeous Sky Vines are fungus tolerant!

With this onset of early rains and humidity, a regular regime of fungicidal spray of choice is going to be needed soon on many plants soon the minute we see Black spot or Rust on many plants we love.

The first ones that come to mind in my gardens are all the Roses and 'Rose of Sharon' type Hibiscus' and rust on Cannas too. Keep your eyes peeled. Smiling

Only roses here are Knockout's....and I think they are impervious to anything...at least ours seem to be. But they'll need a good pruning after this !
