Yep, mom won't take me in the car to shop if it is too sunny or warm, and even if it is real cold. Mostly, I go if it is moderate and her trip away will be quick, but otherwise, I like it here just fine for an hour or two (then she's not yapping you know). Do you know what's really fun though? Sometimes she takes me to the dawg store and I can browse around and pick out my own stuff! Then she gives 'em a plastic card thingy and they give me a treat! I guess I have whatcha' call credit there! You should see if your new mom can get you some credit too! That kind of shopping is really fun (watch out though, a whole bunch of people will want to pat your head and look atcha' an' stuff).

I haven't been to the cookie credit store yet. That's where she's going today. She told me when she was there on Thursday they mentioned they wanted t' meet me. I want to meet them. Well, I really just want a cookie, let's be honest. I don't know about the patting on the head thingy. She'll comb me out then decide if I get to go.

You have a good mom, Inky. Can't get too hot in the car and don't like walking on the hot parking lot. We'll see!

Lexie: I think you SHOULD go with yer mom. That's kinda' how I learned to listen to my mom, because I knew she would give me direction so I should stay right by her. She was learning to listen to me too then. Family dynamics you know. Don't worry if you get scart 'er anything, yer new mom will know and make it better. You'll see. Love, Inky.

Thanks Chrome, Megan and Bridget ~And Alan! So far so good.

Inky, she decided to leave me home... I can watch the clock. She was gone for 1 hr 15 minutes. She returned the bed 'cuz I just don't need it. I know she'll take me for a ride the the cookie credit store but we'll need to leave earlier in the day when it's slightly cooler.

When she entered the house from the garage I was soooooo happy to see her and I let her know how much. Dancing, pouncing, and twirling in circles. She wanted us to go outside to play 'n'stuff but it's just too hot for me. Soooo, she threw my favorite toy (so far) and we played in the cooler house. Ya know, Inky, it's tuff on us black poodles when it gets hot.... phew! (she said she might get me a swimming pool! Well, a kiddie pool thing). Whaddya think?

Oh I KNOW Lexie! When mom works out in the sun, I go take my toys to my cool spot on the north side of the 2nd garage. Direct sun is really hard on me too. Good thing we have several outdoor water bowls and a lot of shade!

It's nice that you danced for your new mom. I bet she really liked that! Love, INX

Ha! Happy beginnings! Thanks! She is pretty!
I just mowed the lawn and she didn't flinch. When I finished she came out and christened it! Rolling on the floor laughing That's 'm girl!

Went for a walk early this morning, ate all her b-fast, again, a morning nap. I tried to get her to play outside and she thinks it's too hot. This is going to be a Long Hot Summer!

Susie: It may be that she is not used to playing and romping in the yard. She lived with elderly people and she probably did what they did daily and not much more. Since my husband was sick my Dobie would just as soon lay around all day as he did. I have to force her to go into the yard for half and hour. When you go into the yard I would be sure that she is there also ... throw the ball and see if she won't go after it at least once. Make a big deal about it if she does ...you know the drill.

I'm sure that's the case, Kathi. I'm thinking she spent more time inside that outside. She is a fabulous gal. I can see that she may have led a very calm, predicable life... in fact she seems to think twice about stepping onto grass...though when she's on the grass she is fine. She's a wonderful doggy and when she greets me at the door she's so happy! . Loves her walks early in the morning! I adore her!

That's funny because I woke up this morning all distressed at the state of my house because you and Lexie showed up unannounced! Inky was on his back with his feet running in the air making happy noises so I guess he was okay with that! Hilarious!

Oh!!! One of those kind of nightmares! I have those all the time... totally wrecks your day... like you never shake the anxiety. Not to worry... while it's hot we're not going anywhere! Though, we did go for a walk around 11:30 and it was nice (80 degrees). Tried to walk in the shade for the most part so Lexie's feet don't get hot!

Whew! I get dreams from college too...I have a test and can't find the room or missed a key lecture...things like that! Sheesh! I'm 57!!!...graduated 17th in my class years ago! Why??? The other makes more sense because I am a good cook and bottle washer, an avid gardener, but no 'housekeeper' beyond the absolute necessary!

Here...this may be what Lexie needs (my last dawg 'Ubo" was a fishin' dawg!):

Yea! I have the "late for work" dreams/nightmares... retired now... wonder if they will persist?

I've seen those little booties for dawgies. Haven't thought about getting her some... only because we just wouldn't be out at all (together) in weather over 90 degrees.... and that's at 8 a.m.!!! Crying I will go out but no point in putting her through that.

I hate AZ in summer ... other than the monsoons... they are cool!
