Greg, you can also add bloom dates to the database entry, under the grow reports detail. I created an inventory list of plants owned and I have a handy place to add notes such as where and when purchased, planted and bloom times. Thumbs up

CA Sue! I have noticed the info you are referencing on other folks list page. This would not work as well as my own spreadsheet. It would have been more correct to say that this is where I point friends & family to see the years blooms and for me to see it visually.

I use an Excel spreadsheet. I maintain it in acquisition order and then alphabetically (meaning if two people sent me irises, I would place the first arriving package on the list and list the cultivars in alphabetical order). My data goes back to 2006.

I may add the acquisition date on my ATP plant list as that would help with trades and the likelyhood that a cultivar would be available.

I had a bloom stalk on "Rare Edition" which was an issue; as RE is not known for re-blooming. In addition, Rick Tasco said the rhizomes were too big for an IB and the stalk was in the TB size. I thought it might be "Mother Earth" as that cultivar had shown up near this location and it was mis-labelled as well. Turns out to be:

Even with the "spot light" that's a nice pic ! Looks like an almost perfect stalk, as well ! BB is always packed with "bunched up" blossoms here.

Sterlingold is trying to bloom. Problem is, it does not note RE in the description, does not look like a yellow (so far), and is going to pass the 16" height. Wonder what it is. It has been warm of late (with a low last night of 54). It will get down to 33 or 34 degrees Sat/Sun and around 31 Sun/Mon which means I need to tent the ones that have yet to bloom that I think may be other than what the tag reads!

Arlyn- I am just happy that it bloomed before the cold/frost sets in and that I could ID it properly. I did not expect it to bloom today and was pulling out of the driveway when I saw it. So I moved the car in position and took the pictures. If a neighbor was looking out the window, they would have seen my car at a strange angle in the driveway, drivers door fully open, high beams on, car running with radio going, and me with the phone out snapping pictures. Confused

Will my Rare Edition be another Bolder Boulder do you think?

Your spotlight pics are great! Thumbs up

It was dug from a different spot, so it should not. If it is, I will replace!

My Mother Earth has a bloom stock on it. It's potted up so I brought it to the porch. Hopefully I'll Get to mm see it in bloom. Not sure if its counted as new to me since my other Mother Earth was bought at the box store and has never bloomed.

Since you already owned Mother Earth it does not count as a new cultivar. (IMHO Smiling )

my latest pictures. I have only two "unknowns" trying to bloom. I will have to employ the "Crump enclosure" to keep them going as I am expecting frost on Saturday night and Sunday night.

Would have been nice if this would have been open last Friday when Rick Tasco was in the garden!
