Nice iris beds, Kathy!, and everything is lovely in your gardens.

Lots of lovely roses Kathy.

The Dog Days of Summer have hit hard here. Hot,humid and dry. Suppose to get a break the next few days. Heleniums are blooming now. I have 7 different cultivers. Here is my favorite, Flammendes Kathchen. Thumb of 2010-08-14/stilldew/85dc41

A new friend has made her home near my trellis. Argiope aurantia is fun to watch and makes a beutiful web. Yesterday she had captured a very large grasshopper and must have eaten all of it because today there was nothing left of him.Thumb of 2010-08-14/stilldew/2041c8

This group of three palms stand at the front corner of the house. The two tall ones are Washingtonians and the blue one is a Bismarkia.
I'm standing in the side yard and thought this would make a nice picture.

This is by far the most expensive plant in the garden. I paid $1,800 for it 11 years ago and it is worth around $6,000 today. They brought it with a big tree planting machine and a crane. It needs a haircut and I'll try to get to it next week. Oh yes, it is a Canary Island Date palm.

My bananas, killed to the ground last winter, are now nearing 20 feet tall. A mild winter means lots of fruit.
