Beautiful pictures, Kathy. This thread is great because I can see what is going on up north and others can get a taste of the south.

I do love the north/south comparisons and wish our CA, Aussie, Japanese, English, and Mexican members would share also!! That would be so very cool!

I get the message Kathy! Sadly, due to our cool damp summer here in So. Cal., my garden is confused, and looking pathetic! On those occasions when I have something worthy of a photo, the breeze is blowing, and the plant won't sit still.
This Sarracenia that I got at the Spring Garden Show is the best looking plant out there right now, with 12 new pitchers.Thumb of 2010-09-01/ctcarol/95126d

Back to the south. I took a soggy walk yesterday and this is some of what I found. I lost about half of my large tibouchina shrub to last years winter but it is coming back.

My thornless tree bougainvillea has bloomed like this since May. I'm very happy with it. Can't wait until it is 30 feet tall.

Finally, my gardening buddy, Harriet, went down to the annual caladium festival in Lake Placid last weekend and brought me a couple of new
Thai hybrids for my caladium bed. What do you think?
