Do you put them in cold for a few months and slow down on water? That has been The big trick here. They don't go into the heated space till they bud up. Makes 'em work hard to make a bud.

Here is now the Amorphophallus finally open and happily smelling of rotten meat. But, I expected worse!

The dark flowers on the bottom are the female flowers, the white ring above consists of male flowers. There were lots of small black bugs crawling about the female blooms.

And - finally a size comparison. The whole inflorescence measures 36 inches today. And no, I only pretend to hug it.

I tell you, flowering this thing is well worth it. This is a fun plant!
I kept it over the Winter in the garage, it was dormant then and woke up about a month ago. I am not supposed to water it until the leaf comes up.

Enough to keep it moist.
I need to move it to a larger pot when it is done blooming. Last Summer I had to flood it in dry weather to keep it hydrated.
