Here is a picture from March 2009, showing the top shelf. It has gotten a bit more crowded up there this Winter.
(The Pachypodium densiflorum on the left of the shelf was blooming as it usually does in March, emerging from dormancy)

Just wonderful Ursula! That last red color is fabulous!! Mine (from Ursula) bloomed until a few weeks ago. It lost lots of leaves but now they are growing back. It's in full sun and I water it twice a week.
The clivia today.

I bought another Desert Rose the other day because I loved the shape of the caudex, looks like a Botticilli to me. I put it even higher out of the soil when I planted it. It has a red and white bloom, fairly common here. It was the shape of the caudex that got me.

This hibiscus has been suffering in a black plastic pot for a month waiting for its spot in the yard to be ready. I finally got it planted last week and today it bloomed a thank you.

This is the pond in my hallway, in the summer it gets a few hours of sun from the opening above. I'm struggling with plants in the bog boxes that filter the pond because most do well in the summer but they don't get enough light in the winter.

That is amazing. Are those doorways and you step over the pond? So unique! Can you use lights in winter?

Jonna, I love the pond along the hallway, it looks great! I agree, how about some extra grow-lights in the winter?

You don't step over it, it is the side wall of the house. It's quite a wide and long hallway and there is an opening above that goes up alongside my upstairs bedroom patio to the sky, it's only covered by mosquito screening. So, when it rains, it rains on the pond and when the sun is directly overhead in the summer it gets sun.

I thought of putting lights for some water plants but there isn't a good place to mount them that isn't unsightly, I worry about adding electrical to the wall or in the pond and electricity is very expensive here so it would cost a lot to run. I've replaced the plants in the center box with what we call teléfono - Pothos. It is doing much better than anything else and it is helping with the splash as well. Not my favorite but it is working. Whatever is in there has to live bare root in rocks in the water, those boxes are the filters for the fish and pond below. I have various cichlids and some mollies in that pond.

I have a couple orchids on the ledge of the columns above, they are doing all right there now, not sure if they will be as happy there in the winter. One day I'd like to mount a very long piece of driftwood I have up there and cover it with orchids and bromeliads - maybe when I get better at raising orchids.

Your lay-out of the corridor is certainly very different from what one would built around here. I like it very much!!

In my greenhouse, on the C&S side of it - the Bowiea volubilis is doing its Springtime thing, climbing all over the place if not contained ( which I did this year) and it is flowering. Although last month the new green growth was dotted with little blooms, some are still produced.
