And their main item poison dart frog. Now back to houseplants, Laurel, I think my lacunosa is recuperating from last summer (almost died). I got a MacGillvray baby from Black Jungle that is taking off like your australis. Actually many of the hoyas are increasing this spring, YAY!

Ursula, Boojum is home from the vet with lots of medicine. Hopefully all will be well soon. No big illnesses they say. Yay!!!!!! Love that fur person.

Black Jungle is a neat place for sure, with lots of interesting plants and animals. Love the Chameleon!
So, did you take one of the Amorpho corms along?
Feel better, furry Boojum.

Ursula, I bought one of those pitcher plants yesterday. Have yours survived? Any tips on growing them? I also got a small Sundew.

Carol,
yes - my Pitcher plants have survived. But they looked really very bad after the snow melted and I thought they were toast. But I left them alone and I see new growth in the center of the clumps. Once they are looking stronger I will cut the old bad growth.
I took pictures just before, have to see if they show up decently enough for you to see.
I like your Sundew too. I just added one yesterday to the bog, but it may not be hardy around here, together with 2 small Pings.
I don't know if you know about the bath tub-Bog (filled with Canadian Peat-moss on top of gravel.) we started a couple of years ago? After growing mosses for the first year I bought the Pitcher plants and they endured now 2 Winters in that location. The Bog sits in a very sunny location and only sees rain water.

Sounds wonderful, but I have no room, no rain after april, and precious little sun, so the bog won't work for me. I'll have to try water filled saucers, or something.

How about a portable pretty planter, filled with some pebbles on the bottom, Canadian Peat moss on top and the Bog plants planted right into it. Keep filled with water to 90 % or so? I see these type of pots here at the local nurseries. They look beautiful when established.

They have these new fiberglass pots with rubber plugs in the bottom. Very light weight, inexpensive and attractive...they really look like ceramic. They come in all sizes and you can pull the plug or leave it in depending on how you want to use the pot. I got one at Lowes last year.

Photoshoot this AM instead of chores. As I get older, my stalling techniques become more and more elaborate, almost baroque!

Not sure I'd call this clivia peach but it's just opening. Guess you'll be seeing more of this plant as it is beautiful closed and various stages of open...Clivia on the runway!

Love the glow here. I have 3 Clivia miniatas, each a different color and they are BIG and take up a ton of room. But I'm doing the happy dance today. First time this one has bloomed for me after 3 years. Talk about faith....

Pretty!!

I thought I would show you here my "Thai Giants". These are hybrids of Euphorbia lophogona x Euphorbia millii and are correctly named Euphorbia x lomi. The hybrids which originated in Thailand are called E. x lomi Poysean group. I like the large colorful bracts which measure somewhere between 1 and 2 inches ( depending on the amount of fertilizer), they make for very colorful and showy plants, some can reach in my hands ca. 5 feet in height. I keep the smaller plants in the greenhouse on the top-shelf, the larger plants in our sunroom.
These plants need a warm and sunny spot during the indoor season, I keep the soil somewhat moist but never soaking wet for long. All spend the Summer outside.
Here are some of the colors:
White

Here is a mix of colors, some shades intensify with the amount of sun they receive.
