Isn't spring great? Wonderful show, Janice. Your garden looks beautiful.

Carol, tell me more about the coral epi. It is a new plant for me.

A few more things are blooming for me:

This is the Dwarf poinciana. It only stands about five feet tall which is good because I have to protect it from frost.

Then there is the jacaranda tree. At forty feet or so, it is big enough to take care of itself. In full bloom, it is a traffic stopper.

I'm not very artsy but this is nice photo of the Canary Island date palm from under the jacaranda tree.

Finally, it is gardenia season and here are the pair that flank the front entry. What a wonderful fragrance when coming or going.

Great shots Jim!! I can smell the gardenia from here! (my fav scent) The jacaranda is exquisite and the dwarf poinciana reminds of the papillio orchid.

Beautiful Jim! Wish I had room for a Poinciana. Our Jacarandas are not blooming yet.
What do you need to know about the Epiphyllum? That one is in a 24' basket and has flowers about 8" across. The flowers only last 2 or 3 days, but are well worth the wait. They play well with orchids! Here is a link for more culture info http://www.epies.net/

Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki', a favorite. Hard to capture the shades of pink on this amazing plant. It just glows. Hesperis with Hakuro.
