I thought I might post this on the 'birds' thread but this will do. Here are my first two birds of paradise of the summer.

Beautiful Jim! I bought one, in bloom, a couple of years ago for the hummers, but it gets too much shade and it hasn't bloomed since.

He suffered heatstroke in the car and it wasn't even a hot day, he was in the shade, and he had water! But he's better. He ate at the doggy hospital this morning and appears stable after fluids and plasma but what a terrible scare and tons of guilt. He'll stay home in his cool box from now on!

Just came in from the garden which is even more beautiful today. What a great daylily season. I think it's the best ever.

So glad to hear that Boojum is ok..scarey stuff! It happened to my dog Cricket a few years ago and I was sick with worry..
It has been a great year for daylilies. . . and I am enjoying the 'extended season' looking at all your beauties!
I saw this , this morning on the way to the newspaper box.

Ahh, thanks Janice. I couldn't quite make out the wren in your earlier picture. It will be fun to see the babies emerge from my Orchid!

I am surprised at how quickly they have grown! It looks like they are being fed by both a male and female.
