I'm glad you're tolerating the treatment well. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that Frank. Get some candied ginger later on. It will give you a better appetite after you have had many chemo treatments in a row. You take care of yourself. Tom

Thank you all. Going in for blood work tomorrow at the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Milford MA. My next chemo is 2 weeks away and after that another 3 weeks before my third chemo. After that is a pet scan which will tell me where I stand

Tom - will the ginger really give me better appetite. I still am eating good but I can't eat as much as I used to. I'm between a rock and a hard place. I want to gain weight for the fight ahead but I want to lose weight for my son's wedding in 6 months. right now I am at 228

Tom - yesterday, for the first time, I put a little of the hot powders you sent me on my food and it took my breath away. the powder I used was not the hottest of the bunch and maybe the chemo had something to do with it but it burned my mouth and brought tears to my eyes. Hilarious!

I've read that hot peppers can take away arthritis pain (or distract you from it). I hope it does the same thing for chemo side effects!

I just added 1/64th tsp of powdered Bhut Jolokia (1 MSHU) to a small jar of pickled garlic cloves. It gives them a "sparkle" in addition to their own pungency.

Franklin, my wife gets tears now any time she eats anything slightly hot. The radiation mainly made the difference, but the infusions made it worse. She used to enjoy hot food, and will still try a bit when I have something new, but it does burn worse.

Actually I've had no side effects at all from either the radiation or the chemo which I count as a blessing. I am going to make a buffalo chicken French loaf for my son on Sunday and it calls for Frank's hot sauce. I tasted the hot sauce a while ago and I survived it without bad effects.

My brain scan showed no,cancer present.

I can walk without a can but they want me to use it around the house. When I go out I take a walker with me just to get inside the store like a supermarket where I then use their carts to walk around with. I will use both the cane and walker until I can walk by myself in a normal
manner. Right now I walk with a little herky jerky motion with the cane.

Gerry - They are a great company

Franklin, I always use my cane in public even for short distances. I don't want someone to see me weaving and wobbling and think I'm drunk.
